Deus Ex Invisible War back in stock for 1.99 at EB

dpk777, I enjoyed the first one a lot and picked this one up when it came out and felt a bit let down at first. I played maybe 15 or 20 minutes and it just didn't feel right, not like the first one and it went up on my shelve. Two weeks ago I was bored and decided to reload it to give it another chance and I am glad that I did. It seemed a lot more fresh as the story unfolded, several different avenues you can take and multiple ways to get things done. Play it all stealth killing no one or go blazing around killing everyone in sight. I would sometimes reload saved games just to see what would happen doing it different ways. The storyline is pretty good and has some twists to it, I won't ruin the outcome but you can make different choices which affect the way others treat you in the game. I am not all that good at writing reviews but all in all I enjoyed it once I gave it a chance and quit expecting it to be just like the first one. For a $1.99 you can't go wrong it took me awhile to finish over a full weekend because I would replay a lot of different areas. Take care...

It's not as good as the first one and it does have it's flaws, but nonetheless it's a great game overall.

Kinda pissed tho because they had the first Anarchy Online expansion for $5 last nite and I didnt pull the trigger... sold out now :thumbsdown: Woulda been great now that AO is 100% free.

Well, as soon as you enable an expansion you have to pay the monthly fee. BTW I saw all the AO expansions for $5 at Fry's on the shelf, even Alien Invasion.

it IS as good as the first one - just different 😉

. . . . and the gfx are very good even if it is a RESOURCE HOG. You're gonna need at least a 9800p to play at max details at 10x7 . . . . and do not fail to d/l THE PATCH - it is buggy w/o it!!!!

Anarchy Online is now free to play online? I just saw this at the local BigLots for $ 6.97. Anyone have any feed back as to if this game is worth picking up? Is it a first person shooter?

By the way, great post......I picked up a copy of Deus Ex also.

 
i'm sorry to say that i actually wasted time playing this game. Invisible War is such a HUGE steaming pile of monkey crap. graphics were terrible. voice acting terrible and melodramatic.

1) you played with out the patch
. . . . or . . .
2) your system is underpowered.

You need aproximately a 9800p to run near high details at 10x7 and the patch is critical to stability. 😉

The game is awesome . . . . just do NOT compare it to the original (it is very different)

Thanks for your opinion but I think I will stick to the review sites like IGN, gamespot, and gamespy for gaming reviews and they each give Deus Ex invisible war atleast a 9 if my memory is correct :roll:

thats no substitute for playing the game yourself. i could care less what anyone else rated it. i didn't like it. i thought it was a huge piece of crap. thats my own opinion based on playing the game.
