Deus EX fan updates are superb

I thought the team had only applied the new textures to a few areas, thus there wasn't much noticeable difference. Have they upped the ante in the past few months?

Man, modding a game is such a pain with steam games.

This is through Gametap, not Steam. Gametap has Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition for free.

I've never played this game, and I'm on a FPS single player tear as of late, finally finishing HL2 and Far Cry in recent months, and just starting up Chronicles of Riddick EFBB the other night. So perhaps I should give this one a go now with the visual updates. I've always heard that it was a great game.

I wish I had more time to play through the various Infinity engine mods, the NWN1 mods, the NWN2 mods, etc, etc, etc. 🙁

On a positive note, with current games getting suckier and suckier, I may actually have the time.

I've had it for years, but only had started and played for about 15 minutes before I went on to something else. Was browsing Gametap the other day and saw it and decided to give it another try. Downloaded the Gametap version rather than install my own copy because it's just so much easier. Played for about 2 hours last night and beyond the Daikatana-like character textures, I was asking myself "why the hell did you not give this game more than 15 minutes last time?" It's been pretty fun so far.

This is the original Deus Ex, not the crappy new one right? Man, I don't know where my (legit) copy is either!
