Deus Ex - $13.94 shipped

<< How is this game? >>

You are kidding, right? It basically swept up all the "Game of the Year" Awards... Totally kicks some ass

Deus Ex is one of the best FPS games I have ever played. I payed $30 for it last year and it was worth every penny. If you like
FPS games... Don't wait - GET IT NOW!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

Stop reading this post... GO BUY IT! 😀

Seriously, though, it's a great, addictive game. For $13.94, you won't be sorry.

...I can't wait for Deus Ex 2!

Deus Ex was designed by Warren Ellis, one of gaming's geniuses. It's a little bit long on the tooth now, but there is a great story here that's missing in most so-called "RPGs". Lots of useable objects in the world - a branching story that can be played non-linear and with many possible approaches. Very highly recommended!

guys! i havent tried this but over here you can find the Game Of The Year edition of Deus Ex for 14.95 $US plus shipping. The site is in canada but it does seem like a good deal since this is 29.99 everywhere else.

This game has to be the best game I've ever played. Well, actually I'm not quite done. I bought it last month, and haven't had near enough time. Almost there though. My bro played it through, and we have talked about the story up to certain points and its almost like we had played different games!!!

Aren't the only differences between the Game of the Year edition and the regular edition the addition of (1) multiplayer mode (which can be added to the regular edition with this patch), (2) the level editor (which can be added to the regular edition with this patch), and (3) the "remixed soundtrack CD with more than 30 of the best tunes from the game"? If so, then if you have a fast Internet connection to download the patches is there any reason to get the Game of the Year edition?

Thanks FPSguy. I was looking for this game but every store i go to here in the bay area had this GOTY edition and not the older one and it was for 29.99 everywhere.
I had actually bought the original one some time ago but somehow i lost it. I really wanna play this again so i was lookin for a good deal. Thanks for posting

Here's a page of review snippets. As noted above, this game won a number of industry "game of the year" level awards, so it really is a must-play for anyone serious about computer gaming.

For anyone curious about what the "Game of the Year Edition" adds that the regular version doesn't, quoting Gamezone:

"The Game Of The Year Edition includes some cool extras in addition to the award winning game. It ships with the multiplayer portion previously available by download. A software development kit is included. This allows you to create your own Deus Ex missions. Windows themes and sounds can also be found on the second disc, although the sounds tend to be a bit disturbing at times. One of the wallpaper themes depicts some of the main characters standing in a very Matrix-like pose. Patches are also included, but my favorite extra by far is the soundtrack CD. It includes thirty tracks from the game and it kicks major ass if I do say so myself."

Oh, and you've got to read OldManMurray's review of the Deus Ex walkthrough. Very funny stuff.

Note that this is the "Site of the Year" edition of OldManMurray. 🙂

I have the "regular" version and bought a friend the "GOTY" version. We could not do multiplay because of different engines. Downloaded all patches, just no luck 🙁

Bump for game of year. Ranks right up there with all the classics, Half-Life, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Quake, NOLF, etc. Don't miss it!

I paid about $19.99 for it about a year ago.

<< So tempted...just picked up Max Payne...Think I can trust the site? >>

I'd say yes ... my copy just arrived this AM. This is the jewel case/manual version though, no box.

For those of us who are not sure about that site, the GOTY edition of Deus Ex is $19.99, available for pickup from Bestbuy.

Though I have a....... er.... alternate version 😉

Oh, and Ellis did Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising.... if you were interested

I must be from another planet, but I tried this game and it sucked. Graphics are a letdown and the models are cheesy. As for the story, it may be a good one like everyone says, but I didn't get far enough to get into it. At least I gave it a try. I'm too busy playing Xbox, CS, or Medal of Honor. As far as fun, Deux wasn't what I expected despite the good reviews. For me, there are too many more interesting games out there for me to spend any time on Deux.
