Anyone ever stay at Caesars in Windsor, Ontario?
I'm going to catch a Dead Wings game in March and plan on staying at Caesars since it is a lot cheaper than Detroit.

Guessing that the casino doesn't comp free drinks if gambling?

Taking the train in from Chicago, so I will be relying on cabs and the bus.
Anyone recommend any decent bars around the Joe Louis Arena, or am I better off heading to the hotel from the train station and hanging out there until I can catch the bus to the stadium?
Thanks

Windsor is for 19 and 20 year olds. If the cost isn't too prohibitive, I would really try to stay at Greektown or MGM (or at least nearby). You'll have much more fun at the restaurants/bars along Woodward and in the Greektown area.

The MGM is $220 a night and Caesars is $100. I'd rather save that $100 to waste on gambling. I'll be traveling with one of my friends from Sweden, so there is also the novelty of going to Canada for him.

as long as you all have passports its not so bad.

Keep in mind you will have to pay to park at the game. And for me, there is a lot to be said to walking around down there and getting hammerd (if thats your thing) instead of having to worry about driving back accross the border with customs and all that BS..

We are going to take the train from Chicago so that we don't have to deal with driving.
There will be plenty of alcohol involved I am sure.

How are you going to get accross the border then for the game?

I have never tried to Cab it, but i guess you could...

I would guess that cab fare to be 40-50 bucks each way.... That takes care of your hotel room cost...

I'd still suggest hitting up the Greektown/Woodward areas before the game. You could take the people mover to the Joe, and a lot of restaurants/bars have shuttles. Then head back to Caesar's after the game?

Fair enough...
The only thing i will say is if you guys are older and tired of the college crowd, the bars and casino in Windsor will not be much fun for you guys...
They are packed full of 19 year old frat boys that want to get drunk and fight.. The 1 time i went to Windsor to drink, I saw more fights on that main drag where the bars are than i have seen combined anyplace else...

Just some food for thought.
