It's not about votes. It's based on statistics. How many people leave per year, crime, jobless, wages, poverty etc.

I see California has the most cities of any state listed. Not surprising.

Read the links from the thread I provided above (post #16). IIRC, Detroit used to have about 1.8 million people. Right now, it is between 600 to 700K. You do the math.

Other cities such as Cleveland, Buffalo, etc. are losing their population but not in such magnitude.

I will say though Detroit has some really cool architecture and some companies are coming in because the real estate is so damn cheap and renovating it.

Also Detroit sports teams are great and I still love the Lions even though they make me want to stab someone each game.

Oh and Slows BBQ is delicious :)

Ah... good ol Forbes. The rest of the web can blame them and their ad filled top 10 lists for installing an ad blocker plugin.

people drive like dicks

What? Thats one of the things I like about Detroit. People know how to get places quickly and don't let little things like laws get in their way. Gets your blood flowing. 55mph? Fuck that! 85 it is! The only thing risky is the dumbshits who go 65mph. They gonna cause an accident!

You have to see this video, its a tour of detroit. It looks exactly like something out of the Movie "Escape from New York" Whole place looks like a post war US after WW III

I always thought there could be a big business in Detroit for armageddon Hollywood movies. Invite the studios in - give them a city block (or more) to do with as they please as long as they set aside some money for cleanup. Win-win!

It's so coooold in the D.

Best. Song. Ever.

Learning to drive in Detroit has made me a better driver.

I would agree with that. If you can deal with the free for all of 94 and the surrounding streets* then you should be in good shape

Stop light? Man - thats just a suggestion

I want to move to Ann Arbor. That town is happinin' :D reminds me of a smaller version of Chicago without all the rude people.

But with extra pompus arrogant spoiled new yorkers!

I will go 82mph all the way too work and back.

What?! Goddamnit get out of the way! YOU ARE HOLDING UP TRAFFIC!

Oh I agree.. its nice that you can drive pretty fast here but there is no etiquette here and as a result causes road rage.

That is exactly what I said. I don't think you understood what I wrote o_O

I said it's based on statistics. Such as how many people leave. I don't get how you could have confused that.

:hmm:

....are you sure that you're upgrading?

Hmm lets see sunshine and the beach or bombed out roads and snow

The moment I REALLY realized Michigan sucked was a couple weeks ago I was on Miami Beach listening to music and I lean up from laying down and see two hot babes had just layed down near me and had their tops off rubbing lotion all over their huge knockers. Then and there the decision was made :D
