Anyone surprised? haha yes im miserable here and its why im leaving for Florida ASAP.

I love the people on my FB calling others "haters" for detroit being #1.

So many people in denial 🙄

And its not just Detroit itself.. the suburbs are pretty much shit. Roads falling apart everywhere.. traffic is crazy.. people drive like dicks.. the weather sucks.. people are assholes cause they hate their life here.. not many jobs.. they put enough salt down to rust your car but not enough to keep the roads safe.. etc etc.

Maybe not the best place to go, but at least it might be entertaining. If you don't get killed for playing music too loud or refusing to make someone a sandwich or not making pork chops the right way.

I don't mind the heat.. the old people will be frustrating but i'll deal with it. I'll just be happy to be near the ocean/water.

Let's break this down.

Roads falling apart everywhere..
Imagine that, cold climates are hard on roads. And states that are struggling economically dedicate less resources to those roads.

P.S., they're really not that bad.

traffic is crazy..
Get real. Have you ever been to any other city? Even Chicago, which is bad but not the worst, is ten times worse than Detroit. My idea of a bad traffic morning is my commute taking 40 minutes instead of 30. This is, in fact, one of the perks of living in a city where the population has drastically decreased over the last few decades.

people drive like dicks..
You probably just don't know how to drive.

the weather sucks..
Detroit/Michigan will get on that for you right away. No problem.

people are assholes cause they hate their life here..
Sounds like some deep self-reflection.

not many jobs..
Wow, are we in a recession? I had no idea! If you can't find a job here, look elsewhere. If you can't find a job anywhere, look at yourself.

Good riddance.

haha keep being in denial that where you live sucks bro

Perfect example.. thanks for posting.
You seem to be the one in denial about the existence of facts. There are lots of things wrong with Detroit. But most of the things that you said are simply inaccurate, biased, not true, or climatically inevitable.

No they are facts.. any idiot that has been here knows what I said is true.

I like how you think the roads here are not that bad.. lol you lost all credibility right there.

And its true the climate sucks here.. I didn't say detroit could fix that.. its just part of the reason it sucks here.

Also there are plenty of cold climates with nice roads.. but keep telling yourself its awesome here.

I always say that one of these days I'm gonna visit Detroit. Then I get happy when I realized I've never been there.

After being a Lions fan for 30 years, I can attest it's the most miserable for fans of their football Team.
(But I blame the owner, not the city)

Detroit is a good omen of what the future holds for the US if we keep heading in the same direction.

No, not really. There are a number of things that made Detroit's decline unique not the least of which is a near total dependance on a single industry and it's overall size. Company towns have gone tits up all across the country at various points over the last century...just none this big.
