I think the Lions have a good chance of being the first team to go 0-16 for the season. They're currently 0-6 and just look at their remaining 10 games:

1. Redskins
2. @ Bears
3. Jaguars
4. @ Panthers
5. Buccaneers
6. Titans
7. Vikings
8. @ Colts
9. Saints
10. @ Packers

Ouch! :Q

All of those teams are capable of whipping the Lions handidly. Thoughts?

vikings barely beat them, bears will probably find a way to lose against them

Bengals will give them competition for that record

Its as bad as the old days for the Bengals. I'm just glad I don't get their games on tv, watching the highlights is bad enough.

Miami tried it last year and failed.

Do you think the Lions are "better" than Miami?

wow, they are gonna get SPANKED in some of those games.

they have a great shot @ 0-fer this year. as bad as the Lions teams have been in the past x years, this year's team is BAD. REAL bad.

they are way worse than ANY other bad team in the NFL.

yea but you're discounting the fact that some of those teams in the end may have playoff seeds secured and will sit their starters...maybe the lions will win a meaningless game in the end but there is no way we will see an 0-16 team for a while...

most likely the titans will make the playoff and be sitting their starters by then.

They might find a way to win against the Vikings in their next game against them.

Scratch that, the Lions will not win any games, but there is a chance that the Vikings can find a way to lose to the Lions.

Of course, that all depends on what happens between now and then. Coaching overhaul? New management? Injuries? They could get better or worse (yes, the Vikings can in fact get worse, just look at Detroit).

I hate to see Calvin Johnson's talent wasted on this team. I hope the team gets alot better during his prime in 2 or 3 years. or he gets traded.

No shit. It must get very frustrating to get open all the time and not have a QB that can get you the ball. Hopefully the Lions will lose the rest of their games and get some good draft picks.

the Lions are worse than backup players anyway.

Its true.. They have maybe 2 players that would be considered starters on an average NFL team.

Ernie Sims on D
Calvin Johnson on O

The rest of the team should be wearing skirts.

How is it that the Lions still have a crappy football team for the past 15 years?
Don't they get 1st and 2nd round picks with their record in some seasons?

One playoff victory in 51 years. (1991) Don't get me started.

To witness a similar misadventure hand your car keys to any 12 year old along with a fifth of vodka.

They had Matt Millen calling the shots from 2001 - 2008. Before that, I wouldn't call them crappy, as they made the playoffs 5 times in the 90's. Sure, they were lost each game, but still.

That's why Sanders will be nothing more than a quitter in my eyes.

I don't think we'll ever see an 0-16 team in the NFL. The guys do not want to be embarrassed that bad and eventually they will run into a team that either has a horrible game, or doesn't care towards the end of the season. I predict 2-14.

The only game I could see the opponent resting their starters is the Packers in the final game of the season, but that's only assuming that they win home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. To do that they'd have to have the best overall record in the NFC through 15 games.

I believe that is in Green Bay, In December.. Lions haven't won there since Detroit made a decent automobile.

GB could start a squad of 2nd grade girl scouts and still whip them handily.
