yea, great lakes crossing is fun as all hell to go to. Esp. Gameworks. I live about an hour north of Detroit, in a homely little city called Flint. If I had a car, I'd drive down there and help ya out... :(

Any decent places to eat and hang around, something where a 19 year old would enjoy. Are there any bowling alleys or pool halls near by?

Madison Heights itself is pretty boring actually... As suggested above I would try Royal Oak.
Although Green Lantern at 12 mile road and John R. is great for pizza and subs. There are several bowling alleys I would say the better ones might be fairlanes on Stephenson or Pampas which is a few miles away.

So will you be North or south of 11 Mile road? This actually makes a huge differeance believe it or not. North of 11 mile tends to be getting into the "better" neighborhoods where taxes are higher but services do tend to be a little better.

pretty much north of 11 mile road. if anything once you exit off 11 mile road exit on i-75 you make 1 turn to the street running parellel to it which is stephenson hwy and i'm like 2-3 blocks down. I can see the highway from my apartment.

I've stoped by oakland mall for a little bit. didn't do a lot of exploring tho. I was just hungry and i knew a mall would be bound to have food so i ate there at the A&W.

I'll definatly keep PM most of you who offer to help and stuff like that. Once i finish moving and get my internet up and running.

Oh speaking of which, are there any local cable internet companys i can get? Im aware of comcast but i was looking for something in terms of a local company since after comcast's promotions prices sky rocket.

There is Comcast and Wide Open West (WOW) for cable providers here. They are both about the same honestly I've had both. I'm with WOW right now.

By the way, you're internet is covered already.

I worked at the Green Lantern when I was in high school. Definitely good pizza :)

You're 19, get in the car and head across the border. Only about 20 minutes to Windsor, Ontario and the drinking age is 19. That's where I spent my time as soon as I hit 19 'til I turned 21 ;).

Not sure how you feel about DSL, but I'd try to aim for that. I got put on SBC's 3.0/512 plan for $24.95 a month for the next 12 months. I think it's gone up like 2 or 3 dollars since then, but it's better than paying Comcrap's pricing.

Comcast still has their $29.99 internet promotion, but that's for 6 months, while 19.99 for digital cable lasts for 12 months.

That said, I have WOW.

i would agree too. but problem is you have need to have home phone to have DSL. i would have no use for a homephone. so its cable only.

Good deal on the wireless internet. i wonder if its wirless B only. Anyone using the internet at the moment. I tend to like my speeds and download stuff so i assume the wirelss is just 56k speeds which is great. But i'll pay for a little more speed.
