Hey guys i'm moving from chicago to Madison Heights,MI. which is a little north of Detroit. I need maybe 2 people on 12/29-12/31 i made it flexible for you. About 3 hours of work maybe less. But need 2 ppl, would be plus if you had a pickup truck. I'm buy stuff from someone within the area and need it to moved to my apartment.

Nothing heavy or anything except for the king size bed and the sofa. The rest is small stuff table and chairs. Tv and junk. Really light work. Would like to start early morning and finish before noon. Will pay for lunches as well. And also pay for labor. Will discuss in private.

If you or anyone you know is interested in helping me please PM or email me peter.turtle@gmail.com

I'd help you out regardless of payment, but I'm going to be in Miami until the 30th...if you still need help on the 31st, I imagine that I'd be available in the morning.

Best of luck.

Ever heard of REAL LIFE FRIENDS? So you know NOBODY.. not even co-workers or neighbors that could lend a hand?

You must suck at life like 99% of the people on these boards.

Thanks.

I guess the plus side is that when you're ready to move out from Detroit, just leave your door unlocked. All your stuff will be "moved" when you get back!

Check out emove.com. I can't say if they are good or not because I am moving the same time as you are. I reserved 2 men for 3 hours at each end of my move and I am going to drive a uhaul between locations. The rates were about $175 total each side plus some gratutity. That might be worth your time to check out. It is better than friends because if they break something you have a company behind them instead of someone going out of their way to do you a favor.

I live and work in Madison Heights. I don't know if I will be in town but I will check with my fiance. PM me with more details about what you need.... I skimmed through real quick... Do you need stuff moved from a storage facility to an apartment or what?

Madison Heights isn't Detroit. While Detroit city itself is a wasteland that needs to be reformatted, people and all, the suburbs are the complete opposite. You'd be surprised what you'd find in the metro area and what kind of house 250k would get you.

I lived in Madison Heights for 21 years. If you have any questions about the area I'd be happy to answer. I live in Lansing now and will be out of town that weekend or I'd come down to help. Haven't been back there in a long time.

^ welll bunker, if you can give me a general idea of how 11 mile/ stephenson hwy area is like it would be great. i'm like right there. literally off the i-75 exit.

Any decent places to eat and hang around, something where a 19 year old would enjoy. Are there any bowling alleys or pool halls near by?

Try downtown royal oak for starters for places to eat, heck basically woodward from 8 and a half mile north to pontiac is a great place to drive/find places to do.

Somerset collection mall if you have big bucks to spend, otherwise Oakland Mall(right up the road from you) and Great Lakes Crossings(about 20 minutes north from you) offer lots of shopping/food chances as well. The Village in Rochester Hills is good too if you have some money to blow...Oakland County is a great place just gotta explore it...

EDIT: I'd help cept I have to work on the 29th and 31st.....I work in downtown/midtown Detroit(in a hospital) and once you know the area better downtown Detroit and especially windsor(canada) is a great place for a 19 year old

However keep in contact if you wish for once you move cuz I can show you round town and such if you want....just PM me
