Detroit 2009: Ford reveals 2010 Taurus

Nice! Too bad I'm not making it to the NAIAS any more 🙁 (First time I've missed it in 15 years, waaaaaaaah)

Holy shit! Chrysler made a car that looks nice! Well, concept car at least. I agree with autoblog. This is what the Sebring should have been.

I hope Detroit can keep this up. Nice looking cars, Ford and GM do have good quality now.. the Chrysler concept looks great they just need to make sure quality is good.

Yup the Taurus looks nice, but it's a shame that a few years after buying that car it won't be anything special and you will be bored shitless driving it, not to mention envious of the new/refined Taurus' in future years.

A bit off topic, but I have a question to see if anyone is like me.

I hate buying products that are first year production models. If a model came out in 1984 and ran through 1989, I would never buy a 1984, because it's new and not refined, so any problems that arise are usually ironed out later on.

Whenever I buy I always search around for the latest production model I can find. Personally if something new came out, Id wait till I bought it.

How about you guys?

Ford seems to be hanging on to some designers from the 80's it seems, that steering wheel looks similar to the one from a ford tempo.

With the success of Toyota, I question how much people care about a dull driving experience.

Besides the financial situation that the American auto makers are in, this is an exciting time for the American auto manufacturers especially with all of these quality vehicles we are seeing them develop.

This is the first nice looking Chrysler I've seen in a while. The last concept I liked was the Jeep Gladiator. That one in the link doesn't look crazily overdone like many concepts. This actually would be something that I could envision seeing on the road.

They have a lot of issues, not least of which is no powertrain after 36k if you're not the first owner (fail).

I'm glad they are getting away from the Monstrous chrome look of the Fusion and Focus. Now if they could just update those two with similarly muscular, but not overly flashy designs...I think Ford is really moving is the right direction. Of course that new MKT or whatever it is called (Lincoln version of Flex) is an abomination...

No pics of the interior. A lot of Chrysler cars look good on the outside but are shit on the inside.

well whats that then?

not that i expect that interior to make it into the production model

very few people actually even expect that car to arrive...

the only thing Chrysler has a hope of selling is JEEP... no not wranglers, compass, etc... i mean JEEP.

I missed those pics. Looks futuristic with alien technology built-in. Like you mentioned, it remains to be seen if this'll be in the production car.

Chrysler should be allowed to fail already to make room for the remaining big 2.
That concept looks good, but there is already Buick Insignia that looks pretty much like that coming to America. So again Chrysler is not contributing much to automotive landscape.
