Hi folks,

I was wondering if it's possible to obtain the CPU stepping w/o looking at the physical CPU. Are there any software which I can d/l to do so?

Thanks!

Do you want the core stepping (actual) or the steppings like JIUHB that are on the athlon xps?

rgreen83: The steppings like JIUHB.

Neway, d/lded CPU-Z. It only gives you the "actual" stepping if I'm not wrong.

Impossible. Only the core revision.

Intel Boxed processors have the sSpec and batch info printed on the box. AMD on the other hand, didn't last time I bought a processor of theirs (1700+)

Yep sorry, theres nothing you can do. As Actaeon said, those steppings arent hard coded into the chip.

That's all right. Just been trying to get the FSB of my old AXP1600+ to 166. But somehow something is crapping out. Using a DDR333 and a Epox-8KHA+. Tried loads of settings e.g. Vcore, DIMM voltage and relaxing mem timings. Nothing works.
