Since most big TV's are not CRT they're actually pretty light. RP sets are mostly empty space, & LCD/plasma units are obviously fairly light as well.

Exactly. I have a 50" Sammy DLP that replaced a 35" Mitsubishi CRT. The Mitsu weighs over 200lbs.
The DLP weighs maybe 70.
