detecting music from microsd on V3M

so i got a microsd to use for music in my V3m, and the phone sees the storage device just fine, but it can't see any of the music on the card. all i have on there right now is a few 320kb/s mp3's. When i try to open the music player, it says Player Error: Music is not Availible. I do have EVDO disabled, could that have anything to do with it?

well i re-enabled ev, no luck. i know this is an exceedingly easy process on the vx9800 and 8300, but it may not be so easy for motorola phones...
