Don't ever buy a Lexmark inkjet. They rip you off on cartridges ($40-$45) that don't last no time, and are not supposed to be refilled. By the time you refill it they are dried up and won't work very well. Lexmark makes most of its money on cartridge sales. The Lexmark printers are more expensive to use than others. >>
While I agree with most of what you said (I have a Z51), I've found that when they dry up I can take a q-tip w/ alcohol and wipe the head and get some more use out of it.
