I'm in the same boat as you lol, I'm thinking of buying either the ASUS P5K-E or the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6.

But I got a problem, my RAM is not listed on any of the 'supported memory list'. I got Corsair 800mhz 2gb CL5. And, I can only find the CL4 edition on the 'supported memory lists'.

Here are the memory lists, ASUS QVL And Gigabyte QVL

Will it work anyways?
My other problem is that I heard it's hard to put on a different CPU cooler (I got zalman 9500LED) on the Gigabyte DQ6 board 'cause something is hiding the screw? I don't know =) But I do know I don't want to use the stock Intel cooler.

My other specs will be:
Intel core 2 duo e6750/e6850 or QX6850 haven't decided yet.
2GB Corsair 800mhz CL5
XFX 8800GTX

Help please? =)

Hey there Cyssero, I can't really answer your question.. so I asked a very knowledgeable friend of mine to come by and check out your problem! He can definitely help you out, even in picking the motherboard thats right for you!

Sorry I couldn't help, but don't worry! You'll get the help you need!

I had ridiculous difficulty getting my SATA hard drives to work with the P5K until I worked out that all the SATA data cables supplied with the motherboard were faulty.

I'm feeling very bitter right now.

FYI, the P5K-E/WiFi is about $150 at NewEgg and others for the past few weeks -- just available. I have one running with a Q6600 and Patriot 4gbs memory -- very stable for the two weeks. Worth a look. Chrs, PTB
