Well I would like to keep my items and armors. Level I could care less about as I can just get up there in no time.

We're talking about vanguard ranks and cryptarch rank.

Also I read something about the special weapon ammo being lost. It's not a bug, it's intended and is to balance the game so you can't swap between special weapons at will. Special weapons and more powerful for certain situations and you have to carefully choose which you will use. Specials are more situational so they don't want people to snipe a group from afar, swap to shotgun and hit them hard when they close in, then swap to fusion and decimate the midboss character.

Anyone have any idea how much space this whole game will take up on the PS4? I'm still on the fence if I want to do digital or physical.

The beta is about 12gb maybe a bit more. I imagine the full game will be around 30-40gb probably more depending how large some areas may be.

I'm still having trouble trying to find better weapons. Tried some multiplayer and it looks like other people have shields and much better armor/weapon combos.

Did you do iron banner or just the normal PvP? Iron banner kept all level stats intact. Normal crucible only applies the armor's modifiers but the extra def and level doesn't apply. The same is true of weapons, there are some weapons that simply shoot faster and that eats up shields more quickly.

I hope they wipe everything, except the 17 grimoires from codes (you get some from reviving dead ghosts or progressing different kinds of kills/mission counts - those should be wiped too).

It's all beta and reputation/items are per character anyway. So they'd need to keep your characters too, to keep rep or items. It wouldn't be beta testing then...

As for what is possible - they spent an obscene amount of money on development, I would think destructible terrain could be implemented having those resources. And I'm sure current consoles could handle it too. Last gen not so much 😉 Also, this game is not an MMO, there is nothing massive multiplayer about gameplay. It's a single player game with coop (and I'm happy that is how it is).

Yea it was iron banner. That's probably why. I still came second in my team and it featured a new mp map that I had not played before.

Destructible environments really only work well when it is scripted and limited. Not really sure it works when everything is sent server side and you have to account for other players in the same environment.

Also thinking we should start an official thread or maybe a clan on bungie.net to setup raids(when we hit the appropriate level), strikes, and other co-op stuff when the game launches in September. Might have to differentiate it by platform though to make it easier to find players on your platform of choice, dunno. Just an idea.

Sounds like a good idea with the clan! I'm on PS4, ID : Daedrael - I just do PvE btw, no PvP 😛

A new thread wouldn't hurt either or maybe OP can rename this one ?

Yeah I don't do PvP either but if people want to they can set up times for joining up in that. I'll start a clan before the game releases and put the address to join in a new thread. Even if we only get a few people on there we can probably set up a time that is convenient for everyone and do some of the activities that require a fire team, or even just run through a bit of the story. Basically just a social hub for members here to get together on Destiny. I'm not really interested in making it structured like a normal clan, i think doing it casually is the way to go. I dont want people to feel obligated to be on time for events and all that. I believe the clan gets their own forums that you can access from the mobile app. Will help keep posts relevant to activities and such if so. I'll look into it and let everyone know.

Yea I'm definitely more casual as I don't play every day but on weekends I'd still like to get into doing stuff like raids.

Yeah, like sometimes I can play on Friday nights and sometimes I can't. I don't want people to feel left out if they can't get on to join a raid or strike on a certain day.

What I am hoping for is a small pool of players from here can get together a day or two a week and do whatever. If there is enough people maybe we will find groups of three or more that have similar schedules and they can get together regularly if they wanted.

I'm down for the clan thing too. This game is a lot more fun with a group of people. Sure you can roam around on your own but having someone else that may know the maps better.

During the Alpha I played at Titan, I liked everything except their special which is just like a Hulk Smash on the ground. Area of effect was tiny and had to make sure you were surrounded by enemies before using it or it was wasted. I'm playing as Warlock in the Beta and I like their special more. It shoots out so I can jump up high and kill a bunch of baddies, much more useful than the Titan special. My play style is more what Titan should be but their special sucks too much to be useful until I'm sure it's upgraded significantly.

I hear that when it is upgraded it is much larger. I don't like the hunter's golden gun at all. I will continue playing as titan or warlock in the full game.

you're a tank and supposed to be surrounded by enemies. Hence the AoE special based around your location.

Warlocks should be off to the side and likely why their special is a projectile.

There will be 3 subclasses. On Titan you were playing the striker. They also have a defender that drops a shield that makes you and your fireteam invulnerable for a short time while inside it. When it's leveled up you can drop the shield, run through it and get a defense or attack boost.

I like the Titan the best out of all 3, it's more my style. Armor and auto rifles. Also when the titan's fist of havoc (the special) is upgraded it leaves a charged area that keeps damaging enemies that pass through it. Later on there is even lightning bolts that race along the ground around your character after the blast to hit enemies in a wider area.

I like the game so far, but what feels weird to me is the parlance that people use in reference to the classes. To me a tank is a damage soaker that draws aggro and is supported by healers, dps, etc. (ala WOW and all its clones). Will you need the different classes in a fire team? Do they really play differently? I am not sure its a big enough difference.
