I thought so too...rumors were lv15 so we could see the other subclass that is given a sneak peek of in the beta. Ah well, the story missions are quite good and you get 5 of them. Also I haven't attempted to explore the map but it is supposed to be a little bigger than the alpha. I'll spend some time looking around. With more time available to play the beta I am looking forward to seeing some of the upgraded abilities.

You now can go to the moon too as we discovered since there are 6 missions I believe. Or it could be mission 5 that just requires you to be at least level 6.

edit: nope Level 6 Story on the moon is locked and when you click on it the following message pops up

Seems the game has been downloading in the background during the night 🙂 So it doesn't need to be running. Almost done - just a gig or so remaining 😀
 
That's odd because when I started the remote download via my phone it was done in about 30 min. When I got home 2 hours later it didn't need to download anything else.
 
I see 3 Beta codes on my bungie.net page. I assume that means there are 2 to give away.

Started playing last night and like the way the beta introduced the story a little more. Alpha seemed to dump you in the environment with little explanation. Now I just need to find more time to play 🙁

I was going to leave the codes for people who wanted into the beta more than I do, but if they're giving out multiple codes like this there's probably a surplus. So I'd like to try it out if you have extras.

I think everyone got 3 codes although the website said 4. I've sent you a PM.
 
I've read a bunch on this game. Mostly Alpha impressions. Still can't figure out if this game is primarily an FPS twitch shooter or an RPG with targeting? I'm interested but can't stand playing twitch shooters with a controller.

It is both in a way. The exploring and story are like an RPG FPS and the PvP is similar to other competitive fps games.

The PvP is tied a bit into the lore of the game but is totally optional.

More Mass Effect type feel than BF4. Much better controls though than ME.

It is definitely not a fast paced twitch shooter like CoD. If you've ever played Borderlands, it's similar.
 
It plays like an rpg in the sense of how you can put your class together along with the items you get. There are plenty of unlocks. Graphics are great and the game play is very fun. Think borderlands open world but it's more fun than that since I wasn't a big fan of borderlands.

Since the PS4 only alpha was capped at level 8 I could see them capping the PS4/PS3 Beta stage at level 8 then opening it up to level 15 for the "full" beta. But honestly it was just speculation I saw on 4chan, as I said "some people were saying".

Yea I just read an article saying the max in game full level will be 20 and can be reached in hours. Another page on n4g also says beta is still capped at 8. Wonder why they decided to stop at 20 if they have some crazy items you can buy/pickup.
