Yea I was talking about triggering the download when you are 20+ miles away. Not sure if you need to be in proximity with the app or on the same network. I guess not.

If you've paired your PS4 with your phone already I THINK you would be okay. To be honest though I haven't tried on a different network.

PSN can tell your PS4 to download a game if you tell it to via the PSN store. I've done it for PSN+ games from work.
 
Well I connected my ps4 to the app. You have to be on the same WiFi network for it to operate at least to turn it on and so forth. But I will probably be redeeming my code on my phone's browser and then I'll see if the system downloaded it when I get home.

To download game content remotely from Sony Entertainment Network Store:
You can remotely start the download from the 'Your New Content' section of the Purchase Confirmation screen or the Sony Entertainment Network Store 'Download List'. You can check what content is currently remotely downloading or has completed downloading by selecting your Online ID at the top of the screen and going to ‘Download Queue’.

1) On the ‘Thank You’ page or your Download List on the Sony Entertainment Network Store, select ‘Download to your PS4’ next to the title you want to download.

2) If Play as you Download is available for the title you have purchased, select which section of the game you want to download first.

3) If you have set up automatic download, the content will begin downloading automatically. If automatic update is not switched on or not set up correctly it will begin downloading when you next switch on the system.

4) On your PS4™ go to Content Launcher to find your most recent downloads or if the content is still downloading or does not appear on Content Launcher go to Library.

There's a companion app on itunes and google play that lets you keep track of your character progress, what your friends are doing on PSN/XBL and see your tower map along with your collected grimoire cards as well as keep up with the latest news and visit the forums.
 
thinkin about pulling the trigger on a preorder. only one i can find on my ps4 is the digital guardian edition for 90 bucks. did you guys get the regular edition or digital guardian or what? anyone know of any deals on this? however measly they may be

I can find the regular edition easily. Do a search on the PSN store.

My friend got that one. He says it comes with the dlc maps or whatever else they may release. He paid like $100 total. For me it's a large enough game that I'm sure I won't have issues with length.

By the time it's out I may even get tired from the alpha and now the beta but I hope not.

That sucks. I hope they list all the keys on their website by 10am at least. It may start at 10 but if keys are not pushed out all at once then we can't download it. I won't be home but I have set it to standby.
 
I work until 2 today (east coast) so I will probably get home right when the download is done. Sounds like I have a good afternoon ahead of me.
 
I hope it's 10am PST, EU gets to preload but NA folks has to wait to the minute Destiny beta opens... PS4 servers are going to be crammed with downloaders.

My Download section says Destiny is ready for download in 54 days... lol

I didn't get any codes yet (PS4 EU). Says I should come back on the 17th to get 'em still... No preload here.
