Why doesn't Gabrielle fly out to NY or LA to make money as a model instead of getting crappy local gigs? She could always fly back on weekends or whenever to see her friends.

Because she's "past it". Her career has gone cold, she's too much of a snob to start back at the bottom of the heap, etc.

Because she's "past it". Her career has gone cold, she's too much of a snob to start back at the bottom of the heap, etc.

that doesn't make any sense because shes getting crap jobs where she lives so if she went to a big city she would get slightly better work. and its not even that she doesn't want to go on the jobs. she just doesn't want to do the extra stuff.

and there are jobs for models past their prime that pay decent. She coud get work for department store advertisements and such.

But then, why did she marry Carlos in the first place? She said (in one episode) she was being paid $10000 a day for modelling work. But then she is supposed to have given up the modelling and married Carlos for the money. And moved to Wisteria Lane. But Carlos doesn't seem all that wealthy (definitely not New York wealthy). He has a house in suburbia and a couple of cars. So how does it make sense?

 
Carlos is probably worth a couple million. I mean he can just spend $15K on a necklace and buy a new BMW 7 series for himself and a Maserati for his wife and it didn't seem to bother him, it also looked like he had a lot of nice 'stuff'. So he was rich enough to marry a model, besides models don't work that often so its not like they are making $10K every day.

I'm guessing he makes something like 1/2 million a year.
