Mmm... Actually it looks like things are getting better -(ignoring price...). Here in Finland it's possible to buy everything (including AMD) except RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti.

MSI:
"So, what can we manufacture for a GPU? Surely we must have something lying around in the warehouses?"

-several days later-

Engineering: "We determined that with the parts on hand and what we can get, it is possible to resume production on the Geforce GT 730. However, this thing is positively ancient and driver support is being dropped in a few months..."

Management: "Build it Build it Build it Overtime for everyone!"

Consumer: "I do not want to, but what choice do I have?!@#!"

Zodiac: "Can a 730 mine ethereum?"

Here in the UK there are retail 8GB 570's for £470 (4gb £450), 8GB 580's for £680, 5500XT 4GB £330 or a 1650 for £270, 1650S for £350, 1660 Super for £415 or a 2060 for £416. For those with re4ally deep pockets, a 730 2GB DDR3 is a whopping £71, a 710 2GB GDDR5 for £55 or a massively powerful 1030 2GB GDDR5 for £86.

All available as of just before this post... as for when you read this probably OOS again.

There are used GPUs available for under $100-150 that can still play latest indie and older AAA games games till 2014. So if one is really desperate they can buy a cheap used gpu and use this oppurtunity to clear some of their steam backlog instead of waiting for a higher end card and wanting to play the latest boring AAA title.

Needs to be posted again, I think I saw some 730’s in there.

upon viewing this again. Those dudes rocking to 1080 sli should sell their second card since sli is effectively dead. Assuming they sold a month or two ago they probably could have recouped all the money spend for both cards years ago.
Pretty amazing.
At the time I thought 1080 buyers were fools for paying so much for a card yet here we are years later and they still have a very competent card.

Well stated. GOG has so many great older titles, that play on a potato. I still do different playthrough styles on Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Even the Master Chief collection, with enhanced visuals runs on a toaster. Some hardcore PC gamers have probably never even played any of them. The soundtrack and story for 1-3 are well worth the time. I still get tense from the music when fighting the flood in Halo 1.

I could seriously ride this whole thing out on a GT 730 and still have a blast, if I needed to.

I feel the same. Rather than spend $2000 for a GPU to play AAA games on medium lol, I would just finish some of those games in the library that I got for free/very cheap.

You can buy a lot with $2000 instead of a single GPU.

So. A-lot of these mining operations is printing "dark money" right? So if you were to hypothetically raid such a farm, they wouldnt call the cops... Hypothetically. Right?

the flagship Ti's were actually "worth" it until the 3000 series.
They were easily able to carry you and skip a generation.
The 3000 series is a troll from nvidia to markup the price on same silicon and just make you feel better because it says "Ti".

Just amazing one could spend $500 or $600 five years ago and still have a very competent card that’s probably good for another three years at 1080P.

- Way to basically sum up nearly all the organized crime that surrounds the drug trade in a pair of sentences.

Next, poor mules smuggling crypto across the southern border on USB sticks shoved up their asses...

Question becomes… how many usb sticks will fit in a single mule? Is it something you can improve on with practise?

…. sorry

Was shocked to see you can actually buy a 660 Ti for $65 now on ebay. Couldn't even find 660 below $120 in the ebay sold listings a while back.

MicroSD cards are the way to go.

Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.

-Too sharp. If one pop's the balloon you have $1.5 Billion worth of razor blades in his butt. Dead mule, crypo gone.

A small suppository shaped USB stick and boom you're all set.
