I posted a problem I am having regarding a failing video from a laptop to a TV via a breakout box. Anyway, during my trouble investigation I noticed in the Advance Display Settings are it reported the desktop resolution and the Active signal differently. The desktop resolution was deliberately set to 1920x1080 (by me), but the Active signal being transmitted to the display was 3840x2060, and the TV receiving the signal confirmed it was 3040x2160.
Why would Windows 10 not just drive the video at the desktop resolution and save video bandwidth?
