i got a dell 600m about 2 weeks ago. I love it, it's a freakin' beast too, 1.6GHz centrino and 64mb ati 9k. set me back about $1700, but it's a great machine. 😀

Now I'm confused. How does diagonal length add to the thickness of the laptop? By your measure, a Apple 17" powerbook should be 2.5" thick instead of a little over 1".
