Running HP nx9420 on max 1680x1050 res, Mobility Radeon x1600, WinXP Pro, all my driver updates, etc., no external monitor attached nor ever had one
Everytime I have to log back into windows after my display goes off or screensaver comes on due to inactivity/idling, my desktop turns into a panning desktop even on the login screen. I just installed ATI Catalyst Control Center and Mobility Drivers 6.9 and they work well except for this one thing. No where in any of my settings do I have panning desktop enabled. I tried reinstalling Omega Radeon Drivers again and the same thing happens.
I do see in my display settings it has 2 monitors listed, the Default being my notebook display as primary and the secondary being inactive (grey) and disabled Default LCD, but the resolution can go up to crazy numbers. This only appears in Display Settings and does not appear in the ATi CCC.
In my device manager under Monitors I see three Default monitors, one generic television, and one plug and play monitor. I tried disabling and uninstalling all except one and they just come back upon restart...My display prooperties lists "(Multiple Monitors) on ATI Mobility Radeon X1600" and there are two of these, the second of which is inactive. I don't know what to do anymore. It keeps switching to a resolution my laptop doesn't support and it goes into panning mode every time I idle and log back in. Upon logging back in, my display properties still lists my resolution as 1680x1050 and my settings are the same, except it is panning a huge amount of space.
Any help greatly appreciated.
