Desktop goes black after i return from a game.

No hatter what game i play this happens. I have a gainward gf3 ti200 128mb, i was using the microsoft drivers but i went to the latest ones since i was having a problem. but it still happens. why is this?
 
I believe there is a thread posted just recently that talks about if you use the drivers supplied by Microsoft through the Windows Update. There was a lot of talk about problems coming from those drivers. Subscriber thread - not sure how to convert it.

I would go get the latest official drivers from NVidia and reinstall. I recommend going to Standard PCI Graphics Adapter before switching drivers. It use to be (still might be) in the readme for installation. I think I would go ahead and reinstall whatever DirectX that you are using after the driver.

I like the 23.11 driver myself.
