Hi.
Does anyone know any restrictions/rules with taking a full-tower desktop computer on-board.

I can't find any general information online. I guess I may need to call the airline to confirm.

Thanks.

I have brought one and checked it in.
They will open it and check it and then sealed it with tapes that say "airport security" or something like that.

its not the size that I worry about but more on the security checks with having it onboard. I want to hand-carry it and I can just see hassle from security personnel to check that all the parts inside are not "explosive."

I've carried on my Shuttle countless times to 3 continents and it was never a problem. At most they'll run the little cloth over it to detect explosives. They were more interested in the fact that I had 4 cell phones on me (1 personal, 1 work, 1 for Japan, 1 for Europe)

It's a full tower.

Any advise on best way to hand-carry it?

I was thinking of buying some straps with a handle just like in the antec superlanboy. I wonder where I can get one just like it?

Make it yourself?

Personally I would avoid it if you like your case and want to keep it relatively scratch/dent free. You want padding and cloth around it to keep bumps and bruises to a minimum.

I guess I'd rather get a little bit of dents/scratches on the case but knowing that I took careful handling of it instead of having airport handlers put it through the ringer and possibly have all the components inside all loose after all that.
