Desktop Calendar

My Senior Moments seem to be lasting most of the day. I would like to find a full screen desktop calendar displaying the current month that would appear when I open Windows 7. Nothing elaborate, just a place to post appointments and birthdays etc.

TIA for any suggestions.

Thunderbird with the Lightning plugin works well too. It won't be on your desktop, but it's very easy to add events, and check them.

Seems no one agrees. Its pretty clear windows needs a solid, integrated, sync-able cal program.

I think you guys are overthinking it. OP needs a simple, easy-to-use, reliable solution. He didn't ask for a new mail client, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to fight with buggy addons, and there really is no need to install third-party software.

That said, I really think Google Cal would work best, for him. You create an account, open a web page, and start. From there, everything is set it and forget it.

Sunbird Might work. I had issues understanding it, which is why I suggested Tbird+Lightning. The calendars easier for me to understand, which is odd since it's really just a Sunbird integration.

Needing net access is a failure point. I've never used GC. but I wouldn't even consider it if I couldn't use it off line.

Its kinda like asking what kind of truck to buy. One person might suggest ford, while someone else likes dodge or chevy. Personally, I drive toyota.

All of them will get the job done, its just a matter of which one the OP likes the best.

I like the google calendar for thunderbird, but I dont use thunderbird anymore. Sunbird has no integration. I want to be able to highlight a date and add to calendar from email program. Also 2 way sync with google calendar.

There's also the lightning plugin/add-on for thunderbird, which will work with google calendar. I dunno if you can just highlight a date and add it though.

You could also use windows live mail with their live calendar service. I don't see the point if you're already using google services though.
