I ordered mine on Saturday as well. If you click the buy.com definitions page, it says that "sent to warehouse" means shipped. My receipt says shipped to warehouse as well and when I check the UPS tracking, it has indeed been shipped. I expect it to be here tomorrow or Thursday. Check your UPS tracking. Now if the rebate comes through. I'm a bit nervous about this one. You know, if it sounds to good to be true...

<< it says that "sent to warehouse" means shipped. >>

This is incorrect. Buy.com was simply describing the three "phases" of transaction. From "Processing" to "Sent to Warehouse" to "Shipped".

I just emaile Buy.com customer service and they responded like this:

"Thank you for contacting us at buy.com, the internet superstore.

The manufacturer of HP 930 estimates that the next shipment will arrive in first week in July. Please be aware that this time frame is only an estimate and may change at any time, especially on our more popular items.

If you'd like to cancel this item, please submit a request through your eAccount..."

First week of july is cutting it very close. It also means that we wont be getting our rebates until like september.

What is this about printed postage expiring in 24 hours? That seems pretty limiting, considering you could print out some postage on Sat and the Post Office wouldn't see the envelope/postage until Monday. Also, how would you print out postage stamps on labels, except for the exact number you were mailing at that time?

I just talked to the csr, and she said that they are expecting it on July 7th, it is unlikely that they process the orders quickly, and it is likely that we might get it after july 15th. I am going to refuse my E-stamps software from UPS, and hopefully buy.com will credit the entire amount to me back...I will be happy if I don't lose anything (even though I lost a lot of time on this), other than biting my nails and crossing my fingers for the rebate check to come...hmmm..

hey to print out the postage you gotta buy labels right?? the software came with like 10 labels...with the price of the labels, it makes the $50 off postage not that great of the deal

<< hey to print out the postage you gotta buy labels right? >>

No gotta. You can print it directly on the envelope.

Yeah, you can't be puttin a postmarked postage stamp on an envelope with your bills or taxes in them and mail them 2 weeks later 😉

Frglss:

Ingram Micro is a very large wholesaler. Them along with Tech Data are two of the largest computer product wholesaler/distributors in the country. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if buy.com was one of their customers, and buy.com ran out of printers at their warehouses, so they Ingram Micro dropship the printer to you, instead of shipping it to a buy.com warehouse, then shipping it to you. (Which sounds like what happened anyways) Hope that helps.....

Does anyone else think this is pretty crappy of e-stamp to all of the sudden add the "postmarked" clause, after they had to have known many people got their printers put on backorder? Sounds like e-stamp has realized how much this promotion is going to cost them and they are trying to wiggle their way out of it.

FastEddieG, Buy.com, or Computers4sure, ValueAmerica, etc. doesn't have warehouses. Most (if not all) computer products are dropped-shipped from the warehouses of the distributors. In this case for the 930C printer, it's Ingram Micro.

I haven't used e-stamp yet, but stamps.com's software lets you postdate postage up to 30 days in advance, and for postage that's already been printed you can print an address correction.

My free stamps.com digital weight scale developed an intermittent failure in 48 hours that causes everything to measure exactly either
0.0 oz or 22.5 oz, so I'm exchanging it for another. The only way to fix this is to recalibrate it, but I don't have an exact weight.

postal regulations say i have to mail the e-stamped mail within 24 hours. would the PO people know if i mail it just a few days late?

hkchan-
Excuse your rude reply but you are the one who is incorrect. In fact, my e-stamp software has been delivered to me and my printer is in the hands of UPS, however the website still lists "sent to warehouse" for both items. I realize many orders may have been put on backorder but some that list "sent to warehouse" may not be. Therefore it might be of help for readers to actually check their UPS tracking. Therefore, you are both only partially correct, getting many here in an uprorar when their purchase may in fact be on the way, and just plain rude.

Bglad, I assume you're talking to me. Would you explain how my post could be considered rude? Just because Buy.com or Ingram Micro is late in updating the order status doesn't mean "Sent to Warehouse" means "Shipped". It could be days before thsy update those orders that are in fact backordered from "Sent to Warehouse" to "Backorder". If you read my earlier post at 3:42 pm, you would've realized I had suggested to Lore to track the shipment(s) using his order number even though his order was still listed as "Sent to Warehouse". Please show me where on Buy.com's web site do they suggest "Sent to Warehouse" means "Shipped".

From Buy.com

Got email from e-stamp in response to my Q.....(summary)....

Do "vault" and printer have to be attached to same parallel port ?

Their response: "The Vault needs to be attached to the computer's parallel printer port, regardless of where your printer is attached." Therefore, I must presume one can use a usb connected label printer even if said printer is not connected to the vault / same parallel port....

But they didn't reply to my Q as to whether the parallel port has to be LPT1 or another one.....but I think their site faq's indicate that it must be LPT1......

And they didn't respond to the scenario of using a usb hub parallel port instead of a mobo parallel port....although, on reflection, this may be answered by the above....will have to wait and see...still awaiting reply to email....

Also, was in Price/Costco today....their now charging either $ 12. or $ 13. for Epson glossy 60 sheet 8.5 x 11 "inkjet paper"....much better than $ 20. price posted earlier by someone else...

Just to let you all know......

One more item.....suggest maybe send rebate certified mail / return receipt.....total cost $ 2.98....worth it for peace of mind...especially for a $ 175.00 rebate.....😀

Well that kind of sucks... I've been using the stamps.com software for a few months now and have sent out letters weeks after printing them without any problems. I sure hop the envelopes that you print with Estamp don't expire that fast.

<< Don't worry about the postmark, just use you new estamp software to print the needed rebate envelope now and it will show the current date as your postmark.... >>

>dkcs, the postage that you print out expires in 24 hours.

>TheBigZ

>>Yeah, you can't be puttin a postmarked postage stamp on an envelope >>with your bills or taxes in them and mail them 2 weeks later.

Heh I know that some places do exactly that, I'm sure there is some kind of regulation against it but it does happen. One time H&R Block messed up my taxes so they weren't able to get them out until the 21st, they had about 100 pre-metered envelopes dated the 14th available.
