Desecration of my "My Documents" folder...

Keep in mind.

This is a week after a fresh format. As all we do after a fresh format, we begin to reinstall our old applications. For me, this was 3D Studio Max R7 (legal! sorry, I like bragging about that 😀) and a bunch of other filmmaking and video editing applications, Google Earth, my Roxio burning bundle, WMP 10 etc. etc. To each his own.

I hate it.

I just formatted. LESS THAN A WEEK AGO. And my "My Documents" folder seems like... death. That's what it is. Death is trapped in my hard drive in the form of my defiled "My Documents" folder. See?

Am I the only one who hates software creating it's own little folders? Am I the only one who hates software pooping stupid "log" files anywhere for the owner to sit and look at?

My rant of the day. Off to philosophy class.

Usually in the options of the program, you can change these little settings of where the file is stored.

...No one feels my pain?

I wasn't quite sure what you were talking about. Are you complaining that your My Docs folder is being filled up with junk?

I know. The ones that have that option aren't there anymore. Shouldn't that be mandatory on all programs?

....oh... and... link works fine for me...?

Yeah I hate when software takes over my documents folder. I remember there was a way to stop windows from putting the my video, my pictures folders in there but now I forgot.

They should all go to Application Data instead... "My Documents" was a fools-way-to-simplify-things that came with XP or 2000.

Actually as long as they're consistent, I don't care where they go... but they aren't consistent.

GOD DAMMIT. My site keeps going down due to an apparent server move. This could very well be the least straw...

Anyways. Yeah, the uh... the.... what? I know how to install programs. I tell the programs to go to my "Program Files" directory. Unfortunately, they create more than one directory. Some, if not most of these directories end up in my "My Documents" folder. Damn them. Damn them all to hell.
