My bank lets you scan them and upload the images, although this is only for business accounts. Hopefully they will add this functionality to personal accounts as well.

Rebate companies and it really sucks they do. I wish I could deposit checks online with Chase as they closed the local ATM and the closest place to deposit is 30 miles on way.
