Hi Folks...

Need some opinion.
What are you guy use for battery backup for your network and computer system.
I mean a decent and dependable backup system from a brand name. Also, would like the backup
system to indicate about battery life so I know when I need to replace them.

Thanks all in advance,

BSDME

I use...
CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD for my 50" TV, DVR & Amazon FireTV
CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD for my 24" LED monitor and two main PC's (rarely are both running at the same time)
CyberPower CP1350AVRLCD for my cable modem & router

Did you have to re-deploy that CP1350AVRLCD from PC to peripheral use?

I think that was the one I had trouble with, per certain top-end Active-PFC PSUs like my Seasonic, and another poster may have referred to the same difficulty. There should be plenty of material posted about the incompatibility among the Newegg customer reviews -- much of it by CyberPower themselves.

I use mine for the AVR equipment with HDTV. Took me a long time to figure out there was a problem. I stumbled across indications in forums and elsewhere.

Cyberpower EC850LCD here. Tested several times with a few real world drops, no issue.

I know nothing of that model, but the 1350AVRLCD did have some issues with "certain" Active-PFC PSU's, and I think the complaints overlapped my own PSU make if not the model. APC -- possibly some other alternatives, and other models by CyberPower -- don't have the same quirks.

I heard Eaton and Liebert (I think I'm spelling that wrong) are pretty good too and often overlooked.

Personally I use a Trippe Lite inverter-charger for my server and network stuff, and a mix of APC and Ultra's for stand alone systems that don't have to have lot of run time. The Tripp Lite has 400AH of battery capacity and lasts about 4 hours. I built it for run time more than anything.

Nope, you got both of them right! Those two brands are more prevalent in the data center and industrial spaces, and so are usually more expensive than your typical APC or CyberPower. However, they both make top notch systems.

I did move the 1350 from PC's, but only because I bought the higher capacity 1500. I had no problems with the 1350 and PC's at all.

I have had my 1350 on my Server for more than a couple of years with no issues so far. I have followed a few discussions about the Active-PFC issues but have yet to run into anything.

Just an FYI, these are still available at CostCo B&M for less than $100.

One question to ask yourself with regard to a UPS buying decision is, do you want a device that allows you to continue working throughout a period of time, or do you want something that gives you enough time to shut down your computer in the event of say a power outage.
