Denver Flat Earth Conference

650 people were there. They paid up to $350 to attend lectures.

More folks tried to come, overshot, and fell off the edge.

For those who braked in time, it was a glorious triumph of idiot fundamentalism over clearly observable science.

At Thursday’s conference, Davidson was giddy to announce the unexpected appearance of the YouTube personality Logan Paul (whose channel has more than 18 million subscribers). Paul made a brief appearance on stage, where he announced he was “coming out of the flat Earth closet” to a thunderous applause from the crowd.
Well then! I'm convinced.

“I’d first heard it in the Bible and thought ‘this can’t be true,’” he recalled, speaking with rapid excitement. “I mean, I believed everything else, that the Earth was created in six literal days, but what about all this other stuff [about a flat Earth]? To be consistent as a biblical literalist, I can’t pick and choose.

Credit where it's due. Most pick and choose. The only thing worse than being a dumbass is being a hypocritical dumbass.

Of course you can't pick and chose. There's some key genital-based commandments in the Bible that any pious Christian simply can't ignore:

Deuteronomy 25:11-1: If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

"He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord."(Deuteronomy 23:1)

Also Cannibalism!

"And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son...." (II Kings 6:28-29)

Well, those are just plain common sense :^D

Yeah but its one thing to believe in a stupid idea that cant be verified or proved false and its another to believe in a stupid idea thats easy to prove false! I mean admittedly hes going the whole way and believing in a bunch of stupid ideas but flat earth is in a league of its own in ignoring facts.

Can you believe that b*tch?? Hiding her son when it came to her turn.
I just know she's gonna eat the whole thing herself; disgraceful !!

But that's exactly how they got there. Its because they believe all this other conspiracy and/or religious nuttery that in their twisted mangled logic part of their brains, this is actually the only feasible way to be.

LOL, the "flat-earth" research rocket that got to 1,875 ft, I guess these idiots can't understand you cannot see curvature from that puny altitude.

Yeah but there must be a bit of their brain that goes "Rein it in a bit Fred! Push this too far and we're going to have to start thinking about it and even this is too mental for us to believe!"

I'm still convinced that flat eathers are just trolls, like those anti vax people. It's all a gag and they are having a wankfest.

That guy with the rocket was on Tosh.0 recently. Very out there guy....but....Tosh point blank asked him if it was all just a ruse to get money to do the rocket, and he didn't say no...just kind of laughed it off.

As for the summit.. as a people watcher, it might have been interesting to sit in on and maybe inject some other nonsense into the conversation as well.

They had one here in FL once, it looked like most of them are selling crap to each other.

How much of an asshole do you have to be to blatantly disregard pure, hard facts?

I can't remember how many miles you have to go out in the ocean but I think the max is 23 miles out and you can no longer see terra firma because of the curvature of the earth. I think I was once 10 or 15 miles out in the pacific and the surface of the earth was gone.

What kind of idiot books a flat earth convention for Denver. You can see the mountains out your window! At least book it for Nebraska or something.
