they have a crap load of celebs this year. Stan Lee was suppose to show up but had to bail so William Shatner is taking his place. George Takai will also be there along with Will Wheaton. the 6th dr who and the hot redhead'ed LARPing chick from supernatural.

Back story on this one. we were leaving and had this conan and his family walking ahead of us ont he sidewalk. we came upon a photographer snapping shots of a wedding, the groom and groomsmen see conan and were like WTF!! they yell out, HEY CONAN YOU RULE!. Mrs Conan replies "we have a wedding to go to tonight and i am tempted to go dressed like this!!" well the Groom says "GET UP HERE!! i want you in my photo!!!" So i stood behind the pro photographer and took a pic of the event. Really cool.

No doubt it will be better than Motor City Comicon.

Just getting in the door was a disaster. If you had bought advanced tickets there was a line 2 1/2 hours long that you had to wait in. If you walked up to buy tickets at the door, you were in in 5 minutes. I swear a riot almost broke out over this.

The quality of people leaves a bit to be desired. I say this in the sense that people have no concept of personal hygiene... more than once I had to hold my breath in the crowds from the stench.

The upside was there was cool stuff to buy, and plenty of media/celeb people to see (except Stan Lee who was being guarded by The Avengers themselves). I was also surprised at how few people dressed up... I must be spoiled from all the Star Wars Celebration conventions.

But you have to figure it out.

I live in a state famous for its overregulation of business yet launched two nationally famous brands recently despite having only about 1/300 of the population of the country.

I live in a state that has business destroying high taxation yet has 4.8 percent unemployment, which is known as "full employment"

I live in a state that has one of the highest average wages despite having one of the highest health insurance coverage rates in the country.

I live in a state that has destroyed family values by pioneering "civil unions" amongst gays, yet has one of the lowest teen birthrates and highest high school graduation rates.

I live in a state which has almost no laws about gun control and anyone can carry concealed without a permit. Yet almost no one conceal carries and has one of the lowest gun crime rates in the country.

Easy peasy.

I decided to give an anime convention a go this weekend even though I was a bit weary after the last time I went. Ugh... full of a bunch of dub watchers that only talk about shows that I was too old for when they started airing. I don't give a shit about Digimon or Pokemon then and I still don't!

...oh, and I didn't take any photos. :|

I was going to go but ended up driving the opposite direction (Santa Fe NM) to visit family. However a bunch of my friends are there and one even has a table.

Cool pics, I will try to make it again next year. Maybe we can have an ATOT meetup?
 
Two things:

1) Boba Fett Wolverine vs Predator? ...what?

2) It should be legal to beat someone to death for dressing as Darth Maul. Princess Lara Croft isn't helping his case, either.
