My gum had been sore lately and just now I felt around in the area where it hurts. It seems I'm teething since I can feel teeth shapes underneath the gum area. I'm freakin' 27 years old. How can I be teething? Aren't two sets of teeth the standard for humans?

Some people have extra teeth. Heck this kid on my track team has a whole extra row.

We call him sharkboy.

Had I known, I wouldn't have gotten fillings for this one molar, I'd just pull it out myself. I'll have to talk to my dentist to see if I can keep the new sets instead somehow.

I really hope you're joking about yanking a healthy tooth to make room.

Ask Dr. Wiki about "wisdom teeth"

I've already had my wisdom teeth removed once. These new ones are coming in beneath my adult molars and because there's some teeth on top already, it seems like it's forcing them to grow out sideways a bit. Heck if I can get a new set of teeth, why not?

sounds like root or bone fragments that are remnants from your wisdom tooth removal that have migrated and are surfacing.

you aren't growing another set of teeth.
