Hey guys just bought a brand new monitor and when I first turned it on I can notice a small green area only noticeable on dark areas.

I don't know if it was sent like this, if it was damaged during shipping or just my carelessness of unboxing it.

Is there anyway I can get rid of this or even reduce it?

thanks

Unless you bounced it off a wall while "unboxing it", it is a defect, start the RMA process and send it back.

Came home to it already out of it's bubble wrap packing (parents like to open mail of mine..) so I wouldn't have a clue if it's been dropped or something.

I could start the return process, but I would have to pay the return shipping to South Korea where I originally bought it from. Shipping for a large parcel and overseas would be expensive.

Lesson learned - for that sort of equipment, buy locally. You really have two choices - return it or enjoy the blem.

Yep, that's the price you pay (yeah yeah) when dealing with one of the Korean monitors.

I believe Monoprice sells these (or at least their rebranded version) with a 1-year warranty. Newegg also carries them, but a lot of the listings say you have to ship it back to South Korea for service.

MicroCenter also has a 27" WQHD Auria for around $350 if you live near one. Made in the good ol' US of A with a 1-year (US) warranty.
