Link.

I've had my eye on these cans for a long time, and the price finally plummeted from retail of $499.99. Got my local Best Buy to price match too so I could use my rewards coupons.

Listening to them right now, and as the reviews state, they sound great. The bass is heavy immediately, but I think the mids and highs are going to take some serious burn in to fully open up. That was expected, so my expectations were properly adjusted.

Lowest I've seen them since launch, so get 'em while they're hot.

EDIT: Dropped another $20, so updated title. Even though they sound good to me so far, I'm considering returning these for some Mad Dogs, but this is still the best price I've seen the 600s for since launch.

Do you have any comparisons to these? I have some Sennheiser 595's that are an absolute treat but I'm always looking for a reason to upgrade!

While this is certainly a low price on these, I would not recommend these headphones at all. Frequency response and harmonic distortion are both pretty poor, and the impulse response rings for a while. See measurements:

You can do much, much better for the price. I would stay away from the new line of Denon headphones in general. Moving away from the Fostex designed products was not a good choice. I know I'm not supposed to talk about other products in these threads, so I'm open to PMs if anyone has questions related to alternatives or such.

But, if someone is still interested in these despite this, it is a low price for them.

I actually went with the Mad Dogs with Alpha Pads (powered by a Schiit Magni/Modi stack) on Hans' recommendation (made elsewhere), and couldn't be happier.

Edit: Also, they're back to $380, so not sure why this thread was necro'ed today, but if someone got them cheap and is happy, I'm happy too!

Best cans I ever heard were a $15 pair in an Afghanistan P/X. I've yet to find anything to compare to them, $300 I'd want to hear them first ;p $500 I'd be expecting sexual favors to go along with them.
