Is a *racist right wing bastard, ok so there's nothing new about that but I just came across some quotes by him that incensed me.

http://politicalhumor.about.co...ary/bldennismiller.htm

Particularly the first couple "French bashing" jokes! Ok I know these are supposed to be part of his "routine" and not told in a mad rage but really where's the difference, if anything it makes it worse.

*As others have point out racism isn't the correct term, the French aren't a race. But to me this kind of joke stems from the same source of ignorance and hatred as racism does.

Uh...how is that first one not spot on? Explain in detail please..

If your asking about the (*) footnote. I'm responding to people who claim the French are not a race they are not a nationality. That's true and so technically the term racism as it's usually applied to hatting a distinct "race" doesn't apply, but it stems from the same thing.

Nah, I am talking about the first couple of "French bashing" jokes. Explain how these make him a racist right wing bastard...

Right wing it doesn't make him, that he's self professed. As others have said they feel a jokes a joke. Perhaps I just got out of the wrong side of bed today, I don't know? I agree that most of the time a jokes a joke and usually I'm with the guys saying so. The reason I dislike this kind of thing so much is that it's told in a politically charged atmosphere and is told in part out of anger and dislike for the other side, and is meant in part to dismiss others by using a collection of stereotypes of culture, comments on cowerdace etc.. Say America went to war with some country and Japan openly refused to help. I see little difference between these jokes and a joke about "Them japs and their small penis' " in a similar situation.

Ok...on the quotes, I agree with the 2nd one..and the 4th one is funny....the 3rd one is probably what got you so riled up. That was obviously a joke..seriously a joke.

Eddie Izzard in his "Dressed to Kill" comedy special had a line about the French I always thought was funny:

"So, Southern France was collaborating with the Nazis in WW2, and that was pretty bad. So ever since then, they've been kinda spiky and, well .. French. I have some family that are French, so I try to be neutral ... but they really can be f*cking _French_ at times."

Dennis Miller is such a right wing hack. These types of people target audiences with IQs of under 90.

I don't think Dennis Miller is racist at all. I used to find him really funny in his younger days. Now he seems to have put comedy behind pushing his own right wing agenda. Bring back the old Dennis Miller where the funny came first :)

Catagorized under hte "I like Jerry Seinfield standup also" catagory? Another over-hyped, NOT FUNNY comedian.

Most of the time he is the only one laughing at his own jokes. He hasn't been humorous in years.
