So, at my job, back when the IT budget was being formalized for this fiscal year, I requested a 17" Apple Powerbook G4... and it was approved.

I put together all the purchasing paperwork, and took it to the big boss for his signature... and he won't sign it! :|

He said there is no way he can justify a Mac at such a high price point when all of our exisiting infrastructure is PC. :(

But since the big boss likes me (apparently not enough, but hey, I ain't gonna bite the hand that feeds me) he said I could get an equivalent PC notebook with all the "bells and whistles". :)

My problem is that I'm having a hard time finding a PC notebook that fits the bill. I want it to have the following:

17" TFT
2GHz+ processor
1GB+ RAM
60GB+ HDD
10/100/1000 Ethernet
802.11g
Bluetooth
56K modem
USB 2.0
IEEE-1394
Win XP Pro

Anyone have any ideas?

That sucks, CNET pretty much says that Apple has hands down the best 17incher on the market. I saw some dude with a 12 in powerbook today at lunch, it looked so sweet.

Edit: That sager looks tight.

Power baby!! I'ver been looking at the 4780 for a while and now they're finally shipping.

Powerhouse with all the bells and whistles built in at a good price with awesome service.

I like the title too.

Holy crap...I haven't been keeping up with notebook progress for a while. 17" in a laptop?! My 17" Samsung LCD suddenly feels a lot smaller :p.
