I'm trying to develop a list of the types of attacks that can be
perpetrated on computer systems. Could you do me a favor and add to/edit
this list? I'm worried that one type might be a subset of another, etc.

denial-of-service attacks, email-borne viruses, firewall attacks,
syn-flood attacks

What else am I missing?

I think that's what they call a "brute force" attack. It's where you try to get through the front door of the protection scheme by trying thousands of combinations of letters trying to find the right password.

Gee... I thought Denial of Service was what your ISP does to you after you try running a porn server!
