I'm sorry. How is this lesson going? At what point is it appropriate to whip out a fucking flag?
At no point ever have I found it necessary to have an actual flag shown to me rather than seeing it depicted in situ in a historical photo.

The same people that believe it's important to be able to wave an actual Nazi flag in a school for lessons are probably the same that thought confederate leader statues placed during the Jim Crow era were important to keep around in order to "teach history".

You can display a flag using a photograph or an image in a display case or in a picture frame or a book. I think it would be hard to teach lessons about Nazi Germany without images that display a Nazi Flag as most images concerning Germany during this period (WW2) had the flags prominently displayed everywhere.

I'm not defending the Nazis or this law. They are not promoting Nazi's or their shitty beliefs. Neither am I, regardless of what is said in this forum. I've said my peace on this... I refuse to get all worked up over a piece of cloth, Nazi, Pride, BLM ...

Also it would be equally weird to ban books with trans flags in!

Honestly I always try to take everyone as they portrait themselves.
I don't think that you are naturally on that side of the political spectrum but you do spend a lot of time defending them or rationalising why they aren't that bad.
I'm finding it difficult to believe that someone in the services would say "I refuse to get all worked up over a piece of cloth". You know damn well that those bits of cloth represent things! And those things are things that people believe in so much that they'll kill or die for!

I learned plenty about Nazis growing up, never needed a Nazi flag displayed to learn it.

What a dick! This clown Vance isn't tone deaf, it’s his intent. It’s straight from the Trump playbook, attack! attack! attack!

He also made up some crock of shit about Scottish people not being allowed to pray at home. The greenhorn American VP met with leaders of right wing extremist AfD, (The GOP of Germany) at his hotel, but not with actual leaders of the German government. Vance's speech was also about appealing to the simpleton MAGA's back in America, who were jumping up and pumping their fists. Russia is celebrating Vance’s speech. whoda thunk it?!

They’ve been planning this moment for four years. When Trump/Musk/Project 2025 cut USAID, they were telling the world two very important things about the kind of value system the United States intends to export from now on:

1. The United States (under MAGA anyway) is done with alliances unless there is a clear, obvious, transactional benefit to the United States. All alliances, with every country - every last one - are being reevaluated right now on that basis.

2. We’re also done with giving a shit about human rights. In fact, we’re openly hostile to human rights. That’s noteworthy because a global power that exports that kind of message is also giving itself permission to abuse them in the future. We’re done with the ICC and ICJ. Done with the Geneva Convention. If other countries want to brutalize their dissidents, that’s just fine with us, as we’ll probably do the same from time to time - just give us the raw materials and natural resources we want.

Sounds like Germany told him to get bent. American fascism is not being received well.

He _did_ visit Dachau, no? Learned nothing, though....or maybe he saw it as instructional/inspirational in a whole other sense.
