If Hillary, why do you think she would be better? If not, why do you think Obama would be the better choice?

I don't know what I am but Obama is still better, probably, than Hillary would have been. Who really knows.

Hard to say... I mean the North Koreans come to the U.S. and they talk with the Governer of New Mexico instead of Hillary who is the secretary of state. Would her presidency be the same? Who knows... we are stuck with obama so we have to deal with it.

Another thread pretty much discounted the idea that obama can be judged yet on his effectiveness. Why would that change in this thread? Any answer here will reflect deeply held beliefs such as agreement with their wardrobes and what condiments they prefer on their hamburgers.

In my mind this is a fruitless thread, American democrats choose Obama and not Hillary in the democratic primaries of 2008. And then Obama sealed the deal by winning the general election.

And the 17 years of constant GOP demonizing of Hillary turned out to be a wasted investment.

Now if the OP wishes to discuss if Obama or Hillary will win the democratic primaries of 2012, we might have something other than a sheer fantasy to talk about,
but its way to early to discuss that yet.

The true Left in this country (of which there is very little) is railing against Obama harder than the Right.

I feel like if Hillary were in the White House right now, she'd be fighting tooth and nail using every trick in the book and every buried skeleton that she knows of to get healthcare reform passed right now, not passing it off to congress to take care of (re: gut and cripple) and going on vacation.

Right now I would vote for the first guy who comes along and says "I'm going to do jack shit in my 4 years, I promise to sit on my ass and not screw up anything else"

Lifts his hand only to veto every bit of legislation that passes over his desk....

I supported Hillary in the primaries, I would do so again. As a matter of fact, she remains the only politician that I have ever attended a campaign rally for (that was not related to me). That being said, Obama is doing a better job than I expected in certain areas. I miss the (Bill) Clinton years:(

This is an interesting question and one that I have been thinking about myself. Perhaps Clinton would have had more of a backbone on health care reform and would have been able to drive home the point to the opponents of reform that Americans are spending far, far more than people in other nations and getting much less.

I would still choose Obama. I don't think he has done a bad job, in fact, I still think it's too early to tell if the administration's moves have had a significant positive or negative effect. It's been 8 months, not even a forth of his term. It took us years to get in the hole, I don't foresee a turnaround happening in any expeditious manner no matter how well the administration handles things.

I can honestly tell you that I feel much less anxiety over the economy and the direction the country is going now, as compared to the election cycle and earlier this year. I certainly don't think we're out of the woods yet, but I feel like we're pointed in the right direction - now we need to seriously focus on our segway back to a stable economy, and get the deficit seriously under control. I'm just worried about the political consequences of those actions, and I can tell the democrats are too - I see a tax increase as necessary, as well severe cuts in social programs and spending, but any combination of the two will likely mean a vote OUT of office.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with this. Obama isn't cracking the whip on the issue like he should be.
