Realistically, this is probably what's going to happen. However, I think the Democrats will get pushed out of the way rather than actively get themselves out of the way.

We have to make it that way. Otherwise we'll just get the "they're just as bad!" & "they were complicit" when it comes time to pick up the pieces from this unfolding horror story.

It seems like the message the Democrats were delivering was:

We love people of all ethnicities and colors except for white people.
We love Wall Street
We love the current political establishment
We love mass immigration
We love foreign outsourcing and NAFTA and the TPP.
Americans second, foreigners first

If that's their message then perhaps it's better to have no message at all. The spectacle of watching them try to blame Russia and Whitelash for Trump's victory would be laughable if it weren't so sad. The Democrats seem to be in a state of complete denial and it doesn't appear that they've learned anything from Clinton's and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's buttraping loss.

Someone should unload a big truck full of manure on Debbie's front lawn, force her to wear a bag over her head for the duration of the Trump presidency, and point at her when they see her in public and chant "Shame, Shame!"

"At issue is a little-used benefit strategy called File and Suspend. The Budget deal modifies this practice and fixes the unintended consequences (the Social Security Actuary calls it a loophole) in a 2000 Social Security law that allows retirees to file for Social Security and then suspend receipt of their benefits to maximize their Social Security payout.

“Eliminating “aggressive Social Security-claiming strategies, which allow upper-income beneficiaries to manipulate the timing of collection of Social Security benefits in order to maximize delayed retirement credits” was something the president included in his fiscal-year 2015 budget, not something the administration reluctantly agreed to. I voted for Sanders in the primary. Sanders himself supported Hillary and even said early in the primary process that Hillary was better than any Republican by a mile. Funny how Bernie Bros pick and choose when they want to believe what Sanders says.
