The problem is the party is just a very weak organization, and the coordination between the party and elected members is nothing like that often seen in parliamentary systems. People are imagining a party infrastructure and function that fundamentally doesn't exist and is basically illegal to set up imunder US law.

That's funny because there is absolutely coordination between the GOP and several media outlets and social media platforms. How many ex Fox talking heads are now in the Trump administration?

But the coordination for GOP is merely driven by fear of their primary voters, desire for tax cuts, and supported by a separate right-wing media apparatus.

There should be some investigation and breaking up if that, but not going to hold my breath.

I watched this again and man do I feel inspired. Seriously watch this speech. And then imagine - one Democrat giving this speech, backed up there with Obama, Hilary, Kamala, all the current Dem leadership up there too, giving a somewhat similar speech, toning down some things, upping others. It would show a unified opposition coming from a position of power and truth - its' most powerful leaders showing they are fighting for us with the truth. Then helping to organize the many fragmented groups around the country into larger protests. Sending Dems to do town halls in R districts where their reps are refusing to.

@Brainonska511 thinks this would be illegal. Do you?
 
Like the Daily Show, and anybody with powers of observation, Colbert is also calling out the pathetic sniveling Dems, to actually doing something. Though according to some of our resident corporate consultant class Dems, that would be illegal!

Anyone who is arguing that Democrats' reaction to...everything...is something other than pathetically weak, disjointed and ineffective is living in another reality. It's like watching a bunch of five-year-olds play soccer against Liverpool while their coach is asleep on the bench.

They're supposed to be the adults, and part of being an adult is adapting your actions to changing conditions. The few L's that republicans have taken have come from the judiciary, and that's a wobbly leg you cannot depend on. Progressive Dems need to band together with enough centrists to oust the current leadership if there's going to be any hope in two years.

Her response was, I would say, "decent", but certainly not inspiring in the way that we need to counteract the blitz Trump and Musk are engaged in. They are breaking the law daily, over-riding the Civil Service system by firing entire departments, and by trying to stop approved spending from being appropriated. This "waste" they are supposedLY cutting from the government is actually taking the money out of people's pockets. They are not meaningless statistics, they are hard working people with children to support, food to buy, and mortgages and car payments to pay, just like everyone else. CALL TRUMP, AND ESPECIALLY MUSK OUT, DAMMIT.
