This makes perfect sense to me and explains @Greenman.

Conservatives say they want to kill liberals and that’s fine. Liberals say conservatives are bad and now that’s Why Trump Won.

No matter which way you look at it this is going to be terrible. And there will be violence. It's going to be hell for a while. I'm scared. And I can't imagine what it's like for non white non males and non straight people.

If we actually had an even somewhat competent and even somewhat progressive opposition party, I'd feel a little better at least so at least something to rally the troops. But the Democrats are a fucking joke, and they literally helped this happen. Makes me more scared how useless they are.

They are so weak and corrupt. And literally while this is all happening they're still trying to shut down the actual left of center Democrats who want to actually fight. AOC, Mamdani, etc...

Because the Democratic establishment doesn't want to upset their corporate wealthy sponsors too much. They never really wanted to improve things that much more than they have been.

I think the whole party system in democracy is insanely flawed. Maybe what a country really needs is a council like in Zion or Star Wars.

Poor 18th October Mamdani. I face the same thing in life. Anything I propose is met with the most severe opposition, even from my friends and family. And then they wonder why I prefer to stay by myself most of the time (oh so you think getting outvoted all the time isn't going to make me resent your arrogant asses, do you?).

The Dem Establishment just continues to show how utterly corrupt and disgusting they are

I'm not even sure most voters remember Paterson lmao. The ones who do aren't likely to be favorable since his term was scandal soaked.

Anyway I think Mamdani wins because he is a MUCH better campaigner and retail politician than Adams and Cuomo combined. Those two are currently slagging each other in an argument about which of them should drop out.

I remember him and he was not good as governor. He got the job just because of Spitzer's umm trip to the Emperor's Club.

IIRC people wanted Andrew Cuomo so badly because Patterson was so bad.

BTW don't underestimate Cuomo or the billionaires donating enough to Adams under the table that he drops out. But Mamdani is the clear front runner and his make buses free reminds me of Giuliani's make ferries to Staten Island free.

Practical and easy to grasp solutions work!

A lot of the people who poured $30M to help Cuomo get bodied in the first round of the primary are shifting over to Adams. I remain skeptical it is going to work even if they burn a hundred mil on him. A bunch of rich people openly trying to buy the mayoralty creates its own kind of message which lots of voters might not approve of.

I mean of course they're not going to send some high profile currently in office Democrat to do this stuff. They're not going to take the bullets for that, it's terrible exposure if they do.

They're supporting Patterson under the table.

Where is Democratic leadership decrying this trying to buy an election by coordinating with other candidates including a Republican? Nothing but crickets.

I thought it was vote blue no matter who!

The corrupt Democratic establishment has been using that line forever to get progressives to eat shit and vote for politicians that never really actually had their causes in mind as we see now.

Vote blue no matter who! Except if it's an actual progressive!

I didn't offer up any thoughts and prayers, though this little misunderstanding is indicative of the ongoing problem.
The problem as I see it is... a movement of MAGA Nazis and voters who were not remorseful for their sins in 2020, 2024, and forgive me for predicting... 2028.
Too often people feign indifference, but we know the flag they fly. Given MAGA's actions this year, anyone claiming the middle ground can grab a shovel and start digging.

No sin in voting for the person you want in office. No sin in the losing side whining about it. It's been that way as far back as I can remember.
Maybe you'll get lucky and the democrats will come up someone electable in 28.

So you wanted another 3.4 trillion added to the deficit and grandmas who have been in the country 47 years arrested at home and deported? You want to pay more for things because of tariffs? You wanted millions of people to starve and contract HIV? You wanted millions to lose their health care and food assistance? You wanted PFAS regulations rolled back?
You wanted the American solar industry gutted?
