Democratic Debate

Clinton is getting nasty, with booes and hisses and everything. I hate Edwards and don't like how he is able to be the good guy here, he isn't getting any time because nobody bothers to talk about him.

I'm watching. I hope Hillary and Obama's bickering puts Edwards back in the race.

Nah, Americans like to see people fight, no matter over what. They just want to vote for the winner.

So does this mean that whoever wins wont be picking the other for the VP spot?

Interesting

Seems Edwards may play tag with Hillary, in exchange for the VP spot.

Edwards stated he was against the permanent base in Iraq. Obama and Hillary avoided commenting on that. I wonder why. Oh, wait, no I don't.

LOL@the question to Obama

Is Bill Clinton the first black president?

And I think he pretty much nailed it. It was a stupid question and he handled it perfectly IMO.

Uh, no they didnt. They both said they didnt support it. All be it in round about ways. Obama said he would try to remove all the troops as quickly and safely as possible. And wouldnt stay in Iraq 10, 20, 50 or 100 years like John McCain would. Clinton said she was sponsoring legislation from allowing Bush to do it.

I don't really think Hillary or Barry would add anything to eachother's ticket as the VP.

Edwards couldn't even add anything to Kerry's ticket, bad as Kerry was... don't know what Hillary would see in him. he obviously doesn't have a broad base of support anywhere.

In an exchange with Edwards asking her if she?ll commit to not having lobbyists in her WH, Hillary replied that she?ll have honest, trustworthy people with integrity in her WH.

Too bad Edwards didn?t come back with, ?Does that mean your husband won?t be joining you??

Too bad he didn't come back at her for not directly answering the question and just side-stepping the issue.

it was a stupid question for him to ask, with the former lobbyists he has working in high profile positions in his campaign.

Clinton used a tactic in this debate I could imagine coming back to bite her: she attacked Obama for representing a client as a civil attorney. As he explained, this representation occurred when he was an associate - an associate has little or no ability to decide whether to represent someone, and in any event most lawyers, for better or worse, are not in the business of turning down clients based on the nature of their business activities.

As an attorney I think this is a blatantly silly line of attack, and my guess is that Hillary, who was at one point a highly successful civil lawyer herself, has represented all kinds of unsavory businesses. It strikes me as a strange fight for her to start.
