No, a moderate has the balls to stand up to an idea they don't agree with even though the party has dictated that they support it.

I'm a registered Republican, but I find myself being more and more alienated by the ultra right wing Christian Conservatives like Orin Hatch and Trent Lott.

Amen, both ends of the extremes are pretty horrid, but the ultra conservatives are definetely the worst.

Wrong again, dubya. Here's some examples of what this moderate supports:

Death penalty
Abortion
Separation of church and state
Sell automatic weapons to Bambi (only fair!)
Conservation
Less taxes

You got a party for me? I don't think so.

 
Your Independant, not a Moderate. As I said, Moderates are people who compromise theyre ideals for the majority. Would you compromise youre veiws if the majority disagreed with you? If you would, then you are a moderate who has no spine and wont stand up for what they fully and wholeheartedly believe. You are defining yourself wrong.
 
You are correct that I would not just go along with the majority. So, I can proudly state..... I am an independent!!

How about this version of events instead:

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street
when they came to a homeless person. The man was homeless because he had done nothing but work in the plant down the road that the republican owned. The republican shut down the plant, however, because he could build the same products in Korea using slave labor for 1/10th the cost. The man cannot get another job because he has no money for retraining as a result of republican budget cuts.

The republican gave the homeless person a smirk and said &quot;go find a job&quot; as he stepped over him. The Democrat was very pissed, and when they came to
another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked
over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office.
He then reached into the Republican's pocket, took fifty dollars, and gave
it to the homeless person. This helped the homeless person buy food for himself and his kids for a week, and made the republican go without one less silk tie that year. The republican spends half an hour bitching about what happened over his seven course dinner while another homeless guy (a plant foreman) goes thru the rich guy's trash for his next meal.

Given the attitude of the republicans who post here, this story is much closer to the truth than yours, IMHO. I would like to know when was the last time a business owner who posts here stopped, gave a homeless guy 20 bucks and his business card. I am sure that I will retire before someone could tell me that story without lying.
 
the problem is this is highly rep. forums so there aren't gona be to many dems flaming this guy....

a rep would not say hey homeless guy come work for me....how often do u see that happen huh?
 
Funny, I didnt know getting laid off means automatic homlessness...Not to mention the majority of the actual homless are mentally unstable and are on drugs...

Ive been laid off numerous times at tech jobs(Im black, had to have been racism involved right?)from company downsizings and reorganizations and you know what, I never once ended up on the street. I have always been sending in resumes and seaching job opportunities while I HAD a job in case I found something more stable, or something that paid better. So whenever I have been laid off ive always had various opportunities available to to me so that I wouldnt be out of work for very long. I also spent the money I had earned from the previous job responsably and invested it wisley so I had enough of a buffer to keep being able to provide for myself in case of hard times. But I have to tell you, its very hard to save alot of money when the government takes so much of it to help people that WONT help themselves responsably.

Well, this republican drives American made cars.
this republican believes in teaching a man to fish.
this republican believes that if you fear that your job is going to go overseas you should get some training.
this republican gave over 5% of his salary to charity (having chosen them based on his own values).

what about you?

Yeah i've noticed that myself. Don't see many wacko democrats, but there are a TON of wacked out republicans trolls here (i.e. tomilator, russ, 67gt500, and err, whoever that gun nut is... wahtshisface, blah). Quite frankly, i dunno why the AT moderators let them troll around, all they do is cause trouble.

That's because the Democrats realize that many of their Politicians are complete DipSh!tz. In the case of the Republicans, the more extreme their politicians are the better. Also, some of the Republicans are pissed off White Boys (with the exception of HelloDeli and one or two others)and they see themselves as Victims because they are white. That's why you get such a large negative response to any threads regarding Affirmative Action.
