Democrat party platform: Favors taxpayer-funded abortion

Because we discussed this earlier on the forum. Where hysterical liberals ranted about it and there were quoted Republicans that said that just because they did not list exceptions where abortion should be legal did not mean there were not any.

Basically it is one big circle jerk.

edit:

from you own source

Yeah looks to me like Republicans have no balls.

Sooo utterly dishonest.

They won't take punitive action against a woman who has an abortion- they'll just imprison anybody who performs one for a very, very long time.

What part of this is unclear to you, indicating that Repubs intend to allow exceptions?

That is why we say the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed.

Period. End of discussion. The language is quite clear & absolutist in the extreme.

As I said they lack balls. I guess murder* is ok as long as it is committed by a woman :\

*this is intended to reflect Republican views on abortion.

The Republican quoted discussing the plank. Where he clearly said that just because they did not list exceptions did not mean there were not any.

Put another way. It is just a pro-life circlejerk.

Just as clear about the Democrats supporting taxpayer funded 9month abortions.

Why don't Democrats talk about when they think abortion is wrong? Is it because they think all abortions are right? The language is quite clear and absolutitst.

I oppose the war on terror and dont want to pay for it. I NEVER said I had a loved one on medicare, that is a blatant lie, Remember that I oppose medicare and want to end it.

That doesn't justify spending money on something so senseless as this , killing innocent babies

Innocent cells with no brain matter whatsoever.

I think you need to wear a tutu while performing that little pirouette, just to be a little bit convincing.

I quoted the actual Republican platform plank, verbatim & in context. It's obvious that they mean what they say.

The 2012 plank as written-

Faithful to the "self-evident" truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment's protections apply to unborn children. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortion or fund organizations which perform or advocate it and will not fund or subsidize health care which includes abortion coverage. We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life. We oppose the non-consensual withholding or withdrawal of care or treatment, including food and water, from people with disabilities, including newborns, as well as the elderly and infirm, just as we oppose active and passive euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Just as clear about the Democrats supporting taxpayer funded 9month abortions.

I've already quoted the Democratic platform plank on the issue. We support the woman's right to choose as laid out under current statutes, which allow very late term abortion only under extreme circumstances. We basically trust women to make the right decision for them & their families.

Your attempts to paint a different picture are dishonest & transparent in the extreme.

And under where does it say if a woman's life is in danger she cannot get an abortion?

It says she can't get an abortion under any circumstances, you silly & dishonest man... because they'll prosecute anybody who provides one.

Where? Please show me where those words are?

Where does it say no abortions under any circumstances?

EDIT:

I have condensed down the only 2 sentences which mention abortion.

So then I assume if you trust women we can safely remove programs such as WIC. Because obviously a woman would never choose to have a child she cannot feed right?

More dishonesty, of course. She likely realized WIC existed when she made her decision to bear the child to term, and she may not be living under the same circumstances after a child is born. WIC provides assistance for children up to age 5. Obviously, things can change for the worse over those 5 years.

Lets see. WIC

Women who are pregnant.
Infants
Children.

Yeah. I am think 2 of those groups she should know. WIC should be changed to at most just C right?

Assuming we can trust women.

And WIC was just one example. Clearly medicaid should end all maternity coverage right. Because its unnecessary. Assuming we can trust women.

You are so desperately dishonest.

We exist in a modern society, one that attempts to protect the weakest living people among us, and those values have been asserted by the majority time and time again in the votes of our elected representatives. Those of us who have more than a few grey cells to rub together realize that a variety of programs are at work to do just that, and exercise our judgment within that framework.

Arguments to the contrary are delusional.

And I am sure Republicans support killing people if they threaten your life.

Why do you think they want to carry guns so much?

Their platform allows no self defense on the part of a pregnant woman. It allows no exceptions wrt severely deformed fetuses, incest or rape, either. No exceptions at all.

If they're to be believed at all, their words must be taken at face value.

Republicans believe you have the right to self defense in general. There is no need to spell it out for every particular case.

No its simple sense. If women can be trusted to make choices then these programs should not be necessary. The fact that they are shows that women cannot be trusted.

Letting women make choices about abortion is equivalent to giving your car keys to your alcoholic brother on a Friday night.

The right side of this image would seem to nicely outline the liberal positio on abortion

lol

Also, show me where the free abortion clinics are.
-Canada
-UK
-France
-Germany

Someone I know admitted to having an abortion. It cost nothing (Canada), and she's better for it. Instead of being a complete drain on society, she's working a part time job and she's a university student. In conservatopia, she would be a single mother with no education and living on welfare right now.

If they're to be believed at all, their words must be taken at face value.
This is where you fail. Liberals actually mean the stuff they say, even if it's really crazy. Conservatives follow the model of the bible and never mean what they say. When the bible says kill people who work on the Sabbath, that obviously means don't kill people on the Sabbath. When Paul Ryan's plan says it will completely destroy medicare, what he actually means is that he won't destroy medicare. Just take whatever they say and do the opposite; that's the real answer. Planning to destroy social security = not planning to destroy social security. Saying "I want what's best for America" means he's actively planning to blow up the Sears tower.

Whoa! Surprisingly, NONE of those countries are the one we are talking about. Interesting. I'm sure Incorruptible or Nehalem can dream up some free abortion clinic somewhere in the US.

There are not government(at least federally) funded abortion clinics in the US. The Democrats, per their party platform want to change that.

wow. further evidence that republicans hate women.

also...to think that the right side of your little chart is, in any way, reflective of the the common democratic party...lollerscates!

wow. further evidence that republicans hate women.

also...to think that the right side of your little chart is, in any way, reflective of the the common democratic party...lollerscates!

Okay lets illustrate

(1) Start

(2) Get an idea - "trust women to make the right decision for them & their families"

(3) Ignore contradicting evidence - ie the massive increase in poverty of single moms. The billions in bail outs to support single moms. The massively higher chance of the children of single moms committing crimes

(4) Keep idea forever

(5) end

Seems like what the Democratic party does to me.

yes, women are always alone in making these decisions for themselves...of course they are?

do you seriously believe that, nehalem?

and likewise, why do you believe that male-led mandates to force women to abide by other male's decisions about their bodies is the proper solution?

this makes no sense. You may like your Victorian era ideas, but they are completely wrong for this country, and our modern world. Luckily, the vast majority of Americans disagree with you and your distrust and hatred of women.

again: where did the evil woman touch you?

yes, women are always alone in making these decisions for themselves...of course they are?

do you seriously believe that, nehalem?

Women have near 100% control over whether to be a single mother. I will say near, granting the possibility that the man she CHOOSES to mate with may mysteriously become a total ass a few months before the child is born. But really in nearly all cases she had no real reason (such as marriage) to believe he would stick around and/or should have realized he was a total ass before she mated with him.

and likewise, why do you believe that male-led mandates to force women to abide by other male's decisions about their bodies is the proper solution?

Societal mandates.

Or are you arguing that all women believe that women should be able to run around mate whatever idiots they want and force other men to pay for it?

Because that is certainly no a very good argument for trusting women's decision making abilities.

this makes no sense. You may like your Victorian era ideas, but they are completely wrong for this country, and our modern world. Luckily, the vast majority of Americans disagree with you and your distrust and hatred of women.

Victorian era ideas? You mean like opposing child poverty. And women raising children to become criminals?

I am still waiting for evidence that women can "trust women to make the right decision for them & their families"

Is it the fact that 53% of infants are fed by the federal government through WIC?

So you want culture to do a 180. Bitches like me get back in the kitchen and make sammiches instead of aborting unwanted pregnancies. Marry whichever guy we suspect is the father even if he turns out to be abusive and crazy. It's impossible to leave the abusive relationship without becoming desperately poor. That sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

and likewise, why do you believe that male-led mandates to force women to abide by other male's decisions about their bodies is the proper solution?
Because we can't be trusted with our own bodies! We think that unwanted children will probably turn into criminals so we do our best to prevent that through various forms of birth control and sometimes abortion. The conservatives know better. Those accidental children could be the next Barack Obama (his mother and father were not married). Of course those same conservatives will claim that Obama sucks and that's why accidental children is bad and that's why we should ensure there are more accidental children which is bad.
