I'm encouraged by it, it means that people looked past the fact that he may or may not look like a terrorist and were informed enough to take a chance with him as a Hindu-American.

He's a converted Roman Catholic., and a very conservative one at that.

Is he converted or born as one? There are tons of Indian Christians. I think Indians are conservative overall, too.

I only hope his conservatism is limited to fiscal matters like has been and should be now (but obviously isn't.)

He converted in high school. Yes most Indians (and Asians for that matter) are usually conservative socially (strong traditions), but I meant he was very conservative in the sense that he's very Republican. ;)

This morning it was announced that he had quit a staff Administration position
in the Bush Administration to return to Lousiana and run for Governer.
That was kept pretty quiet and close to the vest by the Republicans.
Want to bet that he gets reinstated to his previous posiotion ?

What? I read that yesterday or the day before... I don't think it was some sort of highly guarded secret.

Exactly - It wasn't a secret at all:p

He is a good young Republican and you can bet this won't be the last you hear or read about him:)

More power to him.
I made no reference to him keeping it a secret, it just wasn't played up.
The race isn't something that just happened in a couple days, it played out over time.
His Bush Administration background was kept relatively quiet as it was not that big a bonus for him.
My question is 'Do you think he'll come back into the Administration operating circle'
until they can re-cycle him for the next one ?
