Demigod

So, I got my issue of Games for Windows today or yesterday. I picked it up today and read a bit about Demigod, Chris Taylor/Gas Powered Games' new RTS/Action RPG. They describe it as being like DOTA, which was fun for awhile. I'll be watching this, although not too many details are out on this yet.

Yeah, it looks kinda cool, I was talking about it in the 2008 gaming thread.

Those are some screenshots from the magazine--the game looks interesting. I don't know if I'm keen on the whole Arena thing--it sounds like a an RTS version of UT2k4 or something with fantasy instead of science, but whatever. I'd prefer it if it was a more natural environment, but this looks so massive and amazing...I dunno, it looks really cool.

Keep in mind, Chris Taylor has one more unannounced project that he personally is working on besides Space Siege--I have no idea what it is, but I hope its an RTS or RPG.

This is being developed by his second in command. Either way looks cool, nice thread! 🙂

Meh, I'll remain skeptical until there's more information. Most dota clone games/maps sucked, plus I wasn't quite content about the direction they were taking with Dungeon Siege 2 and Supreme Commander.

Well, if it sticks close to the DOTA formula, the game should be really fun. Lots of items + lots of heros + frequent updates = WIN.

If it deviates from the formula, then I can see it going downhill. Lets hope for the best.
