DemiGod Poll - Who's your favorite DemiGod?

Who's your favorite? Post why if you like.

How do you use them most.. offense, defense, support, etc? What's their greatest strengh/weakness? What gear is a must have?

I usually do pretty well with Rook.

i like rook, but hate that he's so f'in slow. torch bearer is fun, plus his sayings make me 😀

Torchbearer - get the -20% ability cooldown relic, all fire spec with deep freeze for the +300 dmg to fireball buff. I get the 550 gold helmet for mana regen off the bat, then wand of speed, boot of speed, and heart of health? (health/mana regen), then I spend on creep upgrades. I play offensively with fireballs and melee, and farm creep waves @ 5 with fire nova. Since you can kill creeps so fast it leaves you time to cap flags. Once you get the heart, mana is no longer an issue. Chasing players down for a deadly fireball with the wand of speed is a must.

I haven't decided yet, but it's a ton of fun to stock up Oak with life drain and armor items. He can get very hard to kill. I imagine you could do the same with Rook.

I like Torchbearer, his fire spells are good but the use a ton of mana. I'm a noob but am learning you have to max his health and grab some mana gear.

oh man, i just played sedna some. basically going pure healing, with minimal summons, i REALLY enjoyed it. pounce does damage + interrupt, which is unbelievably awesome at pwning people about to teleport to base when they're low on health.

I've only played today and with assassin characters but so far it's a toss up between Rook and Unclean Beast. Rook is slow starting but once you address his weak spots you can hold your own especially against towers 🙂 Unclean for me is a little more balanced, not horribly slow, decent hit points and damage attacks. The other 2 assassins I've gotten creamed with 🙁

All of the fire torchbearers' moves have casting times and it sucks so bad getting interrupted. Btw, it seems to me that the most expensive priest idol summons are pretty awesome, they throw you heals for like ~400, and also attack. They have 1.4k life too which makes them less of a target (though I do love throwing fireballs at them occasionally to kill them).

I haven't played rook much but an opponent used him on crucible, and with the narrowness of that map he was able to block us into our side of the middle with towers early game and they controlled the flags for a good portion. I love unclean beast, I go for mana items early on in order to spam poison spit, then speed items to be able to chase down a hero I've weakened.

i still kinda enjoy the UT sounds from DoTA, but they're both well done :thumbsup:

I like Queen of Thorns because there's some nice damage AoE spells, plus you can get a lot of minions (with shamblers) and if you stock up with high mana items you can basically go around spamming various spike AoE spells and wiping out large numbers of enemies.
It's a bit limited in terms of taking on enemy demigods, but good when it comes to capturing flags or taking on enemy bases (which seems fairly obvious, it's a general not an assassin).

Torchbearer is also pretty cool with quite a bit of AoE stuff in fire mode. Not really played with ice much.
Rook could also be nice with towers of light for setting up some defences, but I still like QoT because of the significant AoE stuff. I just wish she had a bit more speed.

i just played a round where QoT spammed shields all day long. my team got steamrolled 🙁

I like the Rook with the teleporting favor item and the charm that has a castable speed buff to address his mobility issues. After a few levels, he can wreak havoc by himself in the enemy base and force the opposing demigods to fall back before teleporting away.

Definitely Torchbearer, being interrupted sucks, but the spells are so damn good when you're in a lane farming creeps by yourself and pushing. Next to that I really like Rook, especially after you stack all those +% attack speed items.

Game looks interesting but I'm not sure that it's something I would keep playing. Never really been a big fan of the tower defense type games. I wish there was a demo.

Just pirate it and play that as a demo. The singleplayer will give you an idea of what the game's about without the meat and potatoes that is multiplayer. It's more like DoTA than a tower defence game.

I like Oak the best, though I haven't tried everyone.

He starts off pretty weak but after you get about three levels he starts getting good. I generally go raise dead flag -> heal friendly troops when you get a kill -> damage buff from spirits that you raise with flag.

I get those up all the way by the end generally. I also get the wave attack that damages everyone around you. This will kill a bunch and do massive heals to everyone when it goes off. Also last stand is cool because he becomes a monster and can pretty much kill whoever killed him automatically unless it is a real tough guy like the Rook, and even then most of the time you can.

I usually just start off with the elite level minotaurs as summons though I am still messing around with item combinations.

Well I may have to shelve Unclean Beast 😛

Online I can't get to the upgrades as fast as I can in SP and I end up being too slow and with a lack of mana items I can't take anyone head on. I know it's part of the game but it's really annoying when everyone just runs away to regen instead of hanging in there and fighting 😉 Oh well time for me to loose my Rambo mentality.

The Unclean Beast's spit and life sucking ability make him one of the best at killing other demigods IMO.
