Hi!

It would be very good if someone know more about these monitors. The models I'm looking to is :
Dell 172FP: Dell's Swedish Information Site in english

And
Dell 1703FP: Dell.com Info Site Regarding 1703FP

It would be lovely if someone knows which panel these monitors use. And recommendations of which one I should order. The 1703FP costs about $100 more than the 172FP (it will be ordered with a comp system, so I can't order just the monitor elsewhere).

- x3m , sorry for my bad english

I wouldn't be surprised if it varies. I know that when my laptop's display went screwy, the LCD the Dell-tech guy took out was a Samsung, but he replaced it with a Hitachi (or maybe it was the other way around)....in any case I didn't notice any difference in the performance between the two.

However, IIRC, when I bought Dell CRT monitors back in the day I was sure they were all Sony.

I'd guess I'd like to know as well.

Oki ...

But when it comes this kind of monitors they should be ordered from one manufacturer. I mean so they can easily re-badge a whole bunch of monitors, and put the Dell logo and their design etc.

It's kinda important because that can tell me if the expensier monitor is worth the extra price, and what I can expect of the monitor. But I won't pay so much for them anyway.

Thanks,
